a belated hello to 2023
Mar. 19th, 2023 03:49 pmHaven't really felt like posting much in 2023, I guess. Mostly I've been staying busy with work -- lots of new things in the Development department, particularly undertaking Tiger Ball. So then it culminated in our big annual gala fundraiser on March 3 and we can call that a success. A shortened week afterward to wrap some things up, and then a week off during Spring Break to visit Scotland and Manchester, UK. I absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh and Scotland more broadly.
Fighting some recurring feelings of dissociation and pausing to think about who I am, what I'm doing here, what I might be doing in a few years. Life is for living, but sometimes it's weird to stop and think about your own life and self.
I've read a lot in the past two and a half months, but the most notable were catching up on One Piece and discovering my favorite modern day school life cnovel, which I'm currently rereading: Bite Your Fingertips. So iddy. So full of my favorite high school romance tropes, featuring a genius high school delinquent with a tragic past x the school's rich flower boy who is just a little sweetheart being obsessed with each other and full of "you're the exception" moments. Also, throw in some inexplicable vampirism for kicks.
My goal this year was to work through my TBR list, including new releases and some rereads. I've made decent progress, but inevitably added new books to that list. I'm trying not to!
Fannishly, over KinnPorsche but still really into Jeff Satur and his friendship/mentorship with Barcode and friendship with the other guys. Still into hockey, much to my displeasure for the most part. Eventually I'll watch the third season of Ted Lasso.
