holiday cheer like light in the darkness
Exam period has started, so I'm off cramming for finals - apologies for not being around much. But I bring some cheer with me, becase we could all do with a little more happiness this time of year, right?
So! Some things that make me happy:
- The Nightmare Before Christmas OST, particularly this song:
And I adore the covers too - from Fall Out Boy to Marilyn Manson, yes yes to derivative works forever.
- Speaking of derivative works, the twelve-year-old girl inside of me will never stop loving Disney princess art. I love all the different adaptations and interpretations and styles. ♥

All of them are stupid gorgeous and outrageously expensive. D:
- And always always Disney music. I know so many songs by heart it should be embarrassing, except I have no shame about these sorts of things.
- While still on Disney, I watched Tangled last weekend! It's soo cute and hilarious with some great songs and great lines and a gorgeous gorgeous paper lantern scene. *___* Would watch again!
- On a totally different topic, FERNANDO TORRES' SON BORN TODAY. /creeps like a creeper, but so happy for him! ontd_fb was taking bets on baby names and joking that Nando'll pull a Crispy and name the kid after himself so he won't have to get a new tattoo - already got Fernando written on his arm in Elvish, after all! (Yes, really.) But the kid's name is Leo.
- Since Olalla went into labor, Nando missed today's match against Aston Villa. BUT IT WAS OKAY. Liverpool 3-0 Aston Villa! Oh LFC, it's sad when every victory is like the biggest deal ever haha. But I am still happy - Xabi was there! Pepe's 100th clean sheet! LFC now #8 on the EPL charts, omg, highest this season. Now I just want Agger and Stevie back, please?
- NEW MACDONALD HALL FIC OMGGG: this was posted for Yuletide 2009 but I always forget to check up on it. Browsing AO3 today helped me stumble across it, you guys, you guys, I don't think I can put into words how fucking much I love Bruno & Boots and the entire MH cast, forever and ever and ever amen. ♥
Hee, so feel-good and fun.
- On a RL note, my little brother's birthday is a week before Christmas, but being the age he is, he absolutely demands separate gifts for each occasion. Maybe it's the big sister instinct in me, or maybe it's because I hardly ever see him and feel the need to buy his affections, but I really want to spoil him and buy him everything on his wishlist haha. So far I'm 2/4. I could make it 3/4 fairly easily except, ugh, money. I could just...not eat for three days! *halo* No, kidding, it's nowhere near that bad. I'll think more on it.
- NEW HAWAII FIVE-0 TONIGHT EEEEEEEE. Does anyone actually want me to write up reaction/thought posts combined with picspam and primer-esque stuff? Because I will! But only if anyone cares to read it; otherwise I will be far too lazy. Whatever, have some recs!
- Oh and obligatory end-of-year-meme. You're in no way obligated to leave a comment, but if you want to, it would be super cool too. ♥
