DJOKOVIC V. NADAL FRENCH OPEN FINALS MATCH-UP. I'm really excited for this because, obviously, vamos Rafa forever and record-setting 7th French Open win if he wins, but also because after the string of losses against Nole last year, Rafa finally managed to figure out a way to beat him, if you see tournaments from earlier this year. So I kind of want to see how he's improved (still improving, always improving ♥) and, if he does, how he'll take down Djokovic.

Also, they are my favorites, so. :D

And EURO 12, HERE WE GO.

No Villa for Spain, which is epic levels of D: But Nando has his ugly bleached hair again so does that cancel each other out? "Hair possession: a stat you ignore at your own peril." Always accurate. So maybe go Germany? Can I have lots of Schweinski, please? I will be watching the weekend games and streaming weekday games at work like a boss. So pro.

I remember back in the day hating Federer lolol. Back when he dominated, I guess, but I've grown to respect his play and class although, let's be honest, it's probably helped by the fact that both Nadal and Djokovic have rocked his socks off in recent years. I can afford to be generous now...

the lonely island is the soundtrack to my life right now. on the train to swindon I heard a couple of lads saying something about spain not really deserving their win against croatia? I hadn't even known they were playing croatia. HOW HAVE THEY BEEN DOING, etc etc. I also watched a little featurette about spain's history with the Euro and there was a bit with michael ballack in and then I had to cringe at his smarmy face ): but then there was iker! and torres pointing at villa after scoring that goal! iniesta had hair in 2008!!

Ballack is apparently doing commentary for ESPN now so all my streams at work have him and Alexi Lalas calsdfksjdf I don't know how to feel about that. Sometimes he trolls Lalas, though, which is pretty great. As is hearing him grudgingly compliment the German side sans him...

Spain is Villa-less! They drew their first game against Italy, beat Ireland soundly (2 Nando goals of 4 total), and were pretty wretched against Croatia, honestly. Or maybe just boring. I was at work. I swear the Jesus Navas goal was more luck than anything else. Or maybe God just really loves him.

Anyway, Jaz probably has better commentary re the actual techniques and strategies but all I got from watching it while doing work is - Germany plays way more interesting/watchable football, imo. Spain continues to play a passing game, with something ridiculous like >1500 connected passes in the group stage. Lots of possession too. But finding it difficult to, idk, consistently mount forward pressure and attack?

England hasn't failed out so far and seem to have scored most of their goals/get most of their chances from set pieces. :/
