Oh dear god. I blame out_of_words24 for posting this for me to see, when I was happily ignoring the existence of SJ's 6jib comeback and title song. I actually like the red-gold gradient filter and Donghae is sex personified as usual (LEE DONGHAE SARANGHAEYO), Kyuhyun needs to sing more Chinese, but Hyuk also looks really good and I, as always, dig the fuck out of Sungmin rocking bleached blond hair. It's nice to see Kangin alive, I guess? I cringe in embarrassment every time I'm reminded of Eeteuk and Siwon's existence in this MV though. OH GOD LET'S NOT.

I also heard about Heechul, so, um. Wow. I think kpop actually got even more batshit and I didn't know that was possible. The dark side to all fandoms...

UGGGGH GOD YES. and Danny's just hyperaware of how young he is all the time, and tries to treat him like a son or a little brother, only he totally fails at it. So instead he just makes Claude pay for takeout a bunch.

I would so read a story where the kids make fun of Claude's fashion sense. Probably he says things like, "You're not even old enough to drive. What do you know about fashion?" And Carson shoots back, "More than you," and Caelen and Carson are just scared enough of getting in trouble for it not to call Cameron a baby when he takes Claude's side.

And I bet Claude doesn't help his case by whining like Cam about why he has to pay all the time. And he pouts and it's only half-joking and Danny is like, "Ugh, you make like a gazillion dollars, you can afford to pay for take out once in a while. Either that or learn to cook."

Obviously that's never going to happen, so Claude sucks it up and pays.

Carson totally knows about fashion! Carson is going to be in high school. He knows these kinds of things, okay, and the stuff Claude wears isn't even like when adults try too hard to look cool and it's embarrassing, it's just awful. All over. Melinda from Ms. Wakefield's class would call him a "walking, talking fashion disaster" and Melinda always looks really good so. Yeah.

"You're a walking, talking fashion disaster," Carson tells Claude.

And they can't eat grilled cheese all the time and that's approximately the only thing Claude knows how to make without charring, so take out it is.

"You should learn to cook," Caelan tells him like the bossy little teenager he is. "Isn't that, like, a requirement to be an adult?"

"You've met your dad, right?" Claude shoots back.

"Hey," says Danny, but they all just stare at him and he kind of wilts because, yeah. Okay.

THEN MAYBE CAM DECIDES HE WANTS TO LEARN TO COOK AND SHOW 'EM ALL HOW HE'S DONE. Kids are ambitious, right? But who will he learn from? Apparently Schenner is good at cooking, so Danny gets Claude to rope him into a few lessons because it's not like schools teach home ec or anything any more.

NO BUT SCHENNER CAN ACTUALLY COOK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-ieXnf0RG8&feature=player_embedded)! I was impressed. THERE WAS A LINK HERE.

Anyway Claude totally blackmails him into helping out and Danny is vaguely affronted that he had to resort to that but whatever, Claude's not going to tell him how Schenner secretly is afraid of Danny because he thinks he's, like, trying to start his own collection of Flyers rookies. Coots has maybe been quietly trolling him about for months. Coots has the best poker face; it's actually awful because he seems like such a nice kid!

So yeah Schenner is roped into teaching Cam how to cook and so of course they're at Danny's place and Carson and Caelan are too cool for this stuff so they're off in their rooms or who knows where, and Danny and Claude are hanging out in the kitchen ostensibly supervising except that all they do is make Brayden really tense and make Cam finally complain, "Papa, go away."

So Danny and Claude take their drinks out to the living room while Danny jokes about how none of his kids love him anymore and Claude reassures him it's normal, it's just like a requirement of kids to find their parents annoying and/or embarrassing and/or both. All the time.

SOB I DON'T KNOW I GOT DERAILED BY HUNGER. SEE, THIS IS WHY I DON'T WRITE THINGS.

Cam learns how to make a few basic things aside from sandwiches and breakfast foods, wins bragging rights within the family, and then Carson and Caelan are put out enough that they demand cooking lessons too and Schenner eventually loses that hunted look on his face because Claude keeps Danny out of the kitchen and the Briere boys are pretty great, once you get used to them.

Claude is half-afraid he's losing his place as Favorite Adult to Schenner (who, let's be real, is only barely an adult), but it turns out when the boys want to try making a whole meal all by themselves to show off their newly acquired skills, they demand that Claude be at dinner along with Danny and are just as eager for his approval.

And then even Brayden is telling Claude how the kids pretty much see him as a stepmom and it freaks Claude out so he goes out and does the single party circuit for a while until the guilt sets in and he misses the boys, damn it, and misses Danny, and blah blah blah feelings, Claude finally resolves to himself that he maybe sort of loves Danny that way.

And now he just has to get Danny on board. Commence Operation Woo Danny!

Oh, and when I was in Philly last week I caved and got a Giroux shirt, which, I don't even know when I'll wear it because I'll feel like a filthy betrayer if I have it on versus the Hawks. But basically I just can't like the Hawks' logo, so *sadface* I can't see getting a Hawks sweater anytime soon. I've seen a pretty cool (fanmade?) alternate logo that's a hawk head with the colored feathers hanging down, and I pretty much wish they'd switch to that.
