Saw HP5. :)


efio_47 & I went to the midnight screening last night and, er, dressed up to do so. It is good to be fannish.



She was going for Pansy, I was going for Cho (who kind of outraged me in the movie and made me want to go for, I don't know, Daphne Greengrass or something).



We failed at timely printing of badges! We'll definitely have them (and better ties?) for the book thing. But don't I look Asian? Admit it! Unfortunately, more fobby than smart and British/Scottish...

Thus, efio_47 told me to be "mock British", since that's what Cho was. So I drank imaginary tea:



As for the movie: I liked it. I had quibbles with it, but they were minor (and I'm sick of seeing people whine about the movie/HP in general so I'm just going to gloss over my own), and it was very enjoyable as a movie. I loved Luna and the twins and hated Umbridge (which was a good thing), and I even liked Harry in it! (Though I laughed at his hair, of course.) There was more Draco than I'd hoped for, which made me a happy duck. Inquisitorial Squad ♥.

I don't really have that much else to say. I think everyone should go see it, not because it's Harry Potter, but because it's a good movie in its own right--though that hardly counts for anything nowadays in regards to HP. Quality is so easily overlooked in the face of being part of the HP phenomenon--and thus must be either loved or hated/avoided at all costs. But whatever. The movie made me happy and reminded me that I like HP canon too, even though I like fanon better.

I like Harry Potter. I like the Harry Potter fandom. I am excited about the release of the seventh book. 10 days and counting! *\o/*

I didn't see many Harrys. Actually, our theater was lame and small and full of annoying high schoolers from our small college town (since most college students were gone) and not many people dressed up at all. D: I did see a Hufflepuff and a couple of other people I'm not sure about, haha.

It is good to be an HP fangirl. :D We are easy to please, I think. Well, some of us. The series has a wide range of fans since there are so many and I try to avoid the extremely stupid end. It makes me sad.

The other end is much happier and flailier and fun! ♥

(I have been seeing those Ravenclaw icons all over the place! While it makes me grin, since I'm going as Cho, I kind of also want more Slytherin icons. Where is the Slytherin love?!)
