   Regarding Boldthrough07 (see what I did there?), I can't find enough words to express my disgust at LJ, but I'll be staying for non-fandom purposes. You can find me here, at my personal LJ, or over on GreatestJournal. Tell me where to find you? As for the rest of the drama, I'd rather just not talk about it--though I do want to take a moment to say that I greatly admire ponderosa121 and the very classy way she has dealt with, well, everything.



2. This post-DH rec post has been updated. I'll start up a new rec post once I finish the newest Shousetsu Bang*Bang. Yay, original fics! :)



3. I've signed up for blind_go Round 4, which is "AUs and Crossovers". Writing! I should really try my hand at that again. (Brilliant HP fics have written themselves in my head and have, unfortunately, remained there.)
   
   Speaking of writing challenges and exchanges, I'm beyond thrilled that merry_smutmas is going to have a fifth year, because it brings so much awesome reading material. I'm crossing my fingers for one or two AS/S or Grindelwald/Dumbledore fics. *G* A girl can hope, right? And I expect amazing things from the third round of hd_holidays too. (And, maybe, can I hope? For the third, post-DH big_bang_hd? It's almost too good to be true.)

   Brief summary: some fans started up the_ass_ship community over on GJ in light of all the banning and drama over here on LJ. The mods of LJ's comm are outraged and deny any affiliation to the GJ version of their community, emphasizing that they are the real, the first AS/S comm, and that if they start another community off LJ--or possibly create a site--they will let all their members know.
   
   I wish I were exaggerating, but I'm not. The post even includes giant font of rage, along with some creative usage of italics and underlines. Because the louder my upset and the larger my text, the more truth stands with my statements.
   
   Forgive my snark; I just can't believe people can be so damned unclassy and immature about something so trivial. Actually, I can, but it's still disappointing.
   
   I'll cut my comments short here because I was working up to a full rant that was very much tl;dr. Suffice to say that I'm not impressed by the mods. Thankfully, I'm in the comm for the members and their posts (art, fics, icons, etc.). Unfortunately, however, as someone said elsewhere, AS/S is not a bastion of good fic--so please rec me anything you particularly like. I fear to tread its waters, much like I fear the general harrydraco comm.
   
   On another note, the new layout for the AS/S comm? Drives me nuts. Flexible Squares with such a narrow area allotted for post content is not conducive to a community, IMO, because of the prevalence of lengthy amounts of text and the large fanart pictures. Thank god for ?style=mine and ?format=light.

ahh, the two weeks weren't up? I definitely thought it was... Apologies for any work i may have disturbed.

Lj exodus is sad, but I think i can understand why. Things like item #4 in your post is probably a big part of it.

AS/S fandom is truly scary. I think i'll unfriend them soon, seeing as I don't bother looking at the posts anymore... The rate at which people are able to produce bad fic. So now we have two things that serve no purpose: cockroaches and terrible fanfic writers. Perhaps this is because life really is survival of the fittest and we need things to survive against?

What do you want for your birthday in case I can't procure the present I want to give you?

Nah, but close to so it doesn't matter. I've pretty much done what I need to do with LSATs--the rest is registering and paying money and starting apps. And, honestly, I was poking around GJ more than I was being productive. ~_~

Cockroaches should cease to exist, as should badfic writers. I think I'll stay with the comm a bit longer (hell, I'm on the scary thing that's the H/D comm) if only to catch the few, rare goodfic. Or something.

Um...I like the word "procure". And I would like...I don't know. I fail at birthdays. Maybe a picture frame.

Wow, that's some serious prima donna antics there. HP fandom wank never ceases to amaze me. I skimmed clairvoyantwank for a bit, and found someone having a megadrama chutzpah over getting a spoiler after DH was released after 2 weeks. God.

#3: Awesome. You have given me a love of Hikago fics, and now that I've finished the manga, I'll make it over to the comm to actually read other fics.

#4: Wow. I'm glad I didn't bother to join their comm now. The 2 AS/S fics I've read so far were both on the harrydraco, and they were both decent IMO.

Don't worry about joining the AS/S ship comm if you're looking for good fic--it's kind of hard to find in the plethora of posts. But I will make recs and save you trouble, hee! :3 There are some in the post I linked above.

LJ is being so retarded that it's disgusting. I'm staying for all the people who aren't migrating and for nonfandom reasons. And I think I'm safe enough as for content in this journal. Not sure about the writing journal, but, eh, I'm crossing my fingers. I figure I'm safe as long as no one hates me enough to start reporting...

I'm sure there are some good summaries of it somewhere, but I have no idea where. Suffice to say LJ suspended two HP fanartists for pictures that violated LJ's policies--except those policies weren't clarified until after both artists were permanently suspended/banned/deleted forever. And there's a host of other legalistic details and whether or not we can even link to R or NC-17 content on a different site now. It hurts my head how stupid it is--but I think it's a good thing to know, at least.

Well. You admit you were agitated, yet no apology. Nice. And you're going to set up another comm, why do you need to be a mod on both sites? I always find it irritating with there are more than 1 or 2 pairing comms because it's hard to figure which one to watch and I don't have all the time in the world for the 'real' as well as 'fake' comms. *sniff* - and AS/S was full of crack (yeah, baby ;) you know what I mean) *sulks* *retreats to the next generation comm she is a member of...*

...you're right. The GJ comm has a much, much better layout. It's green and readable and pretty and the header is so shiny! I'm with you--superficiality goes a long way in comms. X3 Going to ignore the rest of the drama including the new mod post, 'cause it still makes me :/.

But anyway! You should sign up for blind_go! It's lots of fun. And panick and trauma-inducing, but that's all part of its charm. *G*
