[meme] it makes the soreness go away?

Oh my god, fandom is just going to fall into a ditch alongside the road, isn't it? Tonight was my first night back in the university environment, and in the sorority envrionment too. We had a Fall Fest, in which all campus organizations set up tables, get people to sign up, give out free stuff, and chase people down with flyers. I'm so fucking sore in the feet. I'm not looking forward to this semester's classes either.

PHIL362 Contemporary Ethical Theory (Mon. 4p-6p)
POLI270 Classical Political Thought (Tues/Thurs 9:30a-10:45a)
POLI254 International Environmental Politics (Tues/Thurs 12:30p-1:45p)
GEOG120 World Regional Geography (Tues/Thurs 2p-3:45p)
SOCI265 People & Environment in SE Asia (Tues 3:30p-5:50p)

Clearly, Tuesdays are my hell days. I have chapter meetings for KDPhi Tuesdays at 8p too. Let me fall over, good lord.

Sometimes a double Poli Sci/Int'l Studies major sucks. Especially since all of these classes are going to require ridiculous amounts of reading & writing of papers.

/whine

On a positive note, I'm actually kind of looking forward to having a routine again. :D

To wind down, I'm going to sleep. And do this meme tomorrow when I wake up!

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] sapphira_angel.

Name up to three aspects of my life you want me to photograph. They can be specific (my favorite book), or not so specific (something red).

Pic-spams are wonderful; you know it! :D

1) Something that makes you hungry
2) Something you want to break
3) A view you love

♥ I might do this after I post yours and Mi-imouto's sketch requests.

Gokudeeerraaaa~♥

And you should. Let us all be sheep!

:O! Contemporary Ethical Theory! Oooooh, and POLI254 sounds interesting. XD I hope you have a fun fall semester.

1. Your bed before you've made it.
2. Something that annoys you but you love it anyway.
3. Something that's your favourite colour.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I am going to be reading an insane amount of Plato and Socrates this semester, for both Ethical Theory and Classical Political Thought. It's too bad I've already determined (from previous semesters of reading them) that I hate them both. Arrogant bastards. >:O

But my other three classes will probably overlap with the environment bit. Gah.

1) something with a star.
2) something to do with dancing.
3) a bookmark! :)

There's a bit of overlap on Tuesday, yikes! Good luck *hugs*

I think Tuesdays will be the day that never ends for me. And the first day of classes is tomorrow, Tuesday. Oh boy. I get to jump right in; no easing for me. XD

Something purple! Your favorite hat! (If you do not have hats, then your favorite awesome accessory - ps you need a hat.) And something that makes you nostalgic. ♥

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly, I am not in possession of as many hats as I'd like. Clearly I need to rectify this. :D

2) Something gaudy
3) A happy scene

I know, those were lame. I'm tired, sorry @_@

Seriously, I'm looking at the time-stamps on these and you should be asleep! Asleep!!11

When does school start back up for you, anyway?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH SOUTHEAST ASIA. I can be your case study! 8D ...For someone who wants to emigrate, I am amazingly enthusiastic about your SEA course. But I can provide! first hand information! And tell you what it's like to live in a secular country SURROUNDED BY MUSLIM COUNTRIES. Oh noes. Like INDONESIA. Where the JI (...uh...Jemiah Islam...iah?) has its headquarters. I think. Terrorists tried to kill your US Marines! In! Marina...somewhere. Some time ago. Wheee~ *is fount of knowledge*

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA MISHY. ♥ You are so enthusiastic and wonderful, despite wanting to leave. I'm sure I'll be whining to you once I get into classes and have to read and study and learn all about the envrionment and people there. D:

At least my classes will kind of overlap?

::bows to your sage ways::

[identity profile] forochel.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I suspect I will never really leave, because I lack the political fervour and am too pragmatic to really care about the oppression and censorship and things. Except for when I'm not feeling pragmatic/have someone to impress. *is kicked*

Ahhh~I feel like taking your classes now, only what is the point of leaving SEA to study SEA in America? *facedesk*

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You should study Europe! Italy! Then travel there a lot! AND TAKE ME WITH YOU.

I mean, what? :D

[identity profile] forochel.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
That is a very good plan! My dream is to get into Oxford (HAHAHAH NOT VERY LIKELY BUT ANYWAY) and study languages there, or something. We could go to Greece! And then Rome! Trace Aeneas' footsteps!

[identity profile] selenity136.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
How many unit are you getting for the semester? If it's something similar to the system I have around here, I would say about 15 units and that you're a second year? Though I know how you feel since I'm taking most of my major requirements next semester too T_T

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, it's 3 credit hours per course so 15 for the semester. I'm actually a third year. Junior, woohoo. Except it might be my last year too because I might be graduating early. I don't know how excited I am about that, haha.

I've taken nothing but major requirements since I've gotten into college. Yech.

[identity profile] selenity136.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Third year? Wow that's surprising since some of the courses you're taking are 200 level. Assuming that it follows the pyramid of class. But really, taking nothing but major requirements? You must have finished your general education requirements *assuming that your college has them*. You're last year...man, you're last year or somewhat educational system. The next thing you know you'll be working 8 hours each day in a little office enviroment.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure our numbering works like that...in any case, SOCI265 was primarily a jr. & sr. class so. :D Maybe our university is just odd. We don't have many 300 or 400 level course in general...

Yup, finished the general college requirements, though there are still jrs who are still taking care of those--we're not required to fulfill them in any specific order, for the most part, so a lot of people take major-related courses before their general college courses.

Gah, I totally am not ready for a day job like that! Law school first! Part-time work on the side, hopefully.

[identity profile] selenity136.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Totally different from mine. Even in my junior/senior year I have to take GE courses that are upper division. It's part of the whole human diversity/global interaction type of thing.

Law school huh? Any law schools in particular like Harvard?

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to tomorrow, the first day of classes. At least I'll have Wednesday to recover! I plan on using all my off days to do work, obviously, since I'm going to have a ton with all my classes being Tuesdays and Thursdays (and that one on Monday). I can't decide if I love my schedule or hate it. XD I guess it depends on whether or not I can work with it once school starts.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I should say PoliSci's not bad since I'm majoring in it and all but--some of it is terminally boring. Or way over my head, sadly. But on the other hand, some other parts of it are totally fascinating. :D I wish you luck with it!

[identity profile] efio-47.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
1. something with a sesame seed on it. Or many
2. something bubbly
3. something full

It's interesting how people w/ different interests react to different classes. Of course, right now i'm bleeeeeeegh to all classes. I need to be excited again. And learn! And study! And...haha, no. Nvm. Life has failed.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Cheating is a way of life! I should find a Slytherin icon that says something about cheating. I know I've seen them around...

[identity profile] efio-47.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
well, was your cheating successful? I don't see pictures up yet...
Cheating is a way of life...for cheating cheaters. And cheats.

[identity profile] danii06.livejournal.com 2007-08-20 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, southeast asia! I'm also in that region, along with Mishy and Wai haha, and I'm going to emigrate to the US or Canada as well in the next two years. I can provide first hand info too! :)

Oh, and Ethical Philosophy = ♥. It's one of my most favorite core subjects when I was in college-- but maybe it's because I got a kick-ass prof. If your course is anything like mine, you'll have Plato (Socrates), Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, Kant, John Rowles, Hannah Arendt, and whoever made the utilitarian theory. It's fun! Hope your professor's good. :)

Oh and meme, right:

1.) Favorite outfit
2.) Your camera
3.) Your favorite animal

Indonesia I believe...?

[identity profile] forochel.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
...Hahaha, how could I have forgotten about Indonesia.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I took "Ethics of Peace, War, & Defense" over the summer, which was totally fascinating. My professor helped with that too. :D I'm trying to get him to write me a recommendation letter to law school, heh. I've yet to go to my Ethical Philosophy class--next Monday! Will let you know what I think of it.

I have so much Plato & Aristotle & the like under my belt from History of Western Civ. last year, and various other things. I have them for Classical Political Thought too. I will never escape them!

Gah, meme. These are taking longer than I'd anticipated, possibly because I have less time than I anticipated with classes starting. :O

[identity profile] lady-androgene.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ethics of Peace, War, & Defense

::envies you:: That's a kick-ass course. I'm really interested in Ethics and War, but I never got them both in one course.

Haha, but if its Contemporary Philosophy, I don't think you'll encounter Plato and Aristotle, coz they're ancient. But I may be wrong, coz those too old geezers are gold-standards when it comes to Philosophy. :D When you start your classes, tell me which philosophers you're taking, and if you need help, because I have 12 units worth of notes for philosophy. :P

[identity profile] kiizu.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
EH, SEA!!!
I can tell you about the economic development of Singapore. Within the next two to three weeks, because I'll have forgotten everything after that. xD; (I have a test on it tomorrow!! Exciting!)

D: your Tuesdays look awful. well. at least you haven't anything on wednesdays, fridays, and weekends...?

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly the class seems more Thailand-centric. But good luck with your test! Maybe I'll have something to say about Singapore's economic development before then. :D

Tuesdays are the hell days, indeed. Wednesdays won't be much fun either because of the reading load I'll have to have done by Thursday, but the weekend should be better. Trying to not slack off entirely then though...we'll see how it goes. ;)

[identity profile] priestnobaka.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
SE AsiaXD There're like..ten countries, wonder if you have to study them all~

Meme~
1. a flower you like
2. something that scares you/ that you dislike
3. a musical instrument

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently we're focusing primarily on Thailand, but we're doing group projects focusing on another country of our choice.

I don't know if I have any musical instruments around since I'm back at college. D: I'll try my best!
