onto year two
It's been one year, but it feels like EIGHTY FOUR. Or at the very least like three long years. At least there are elections this year, so it feels like there are concrete goals to work toward, rather than just screaming in outrage endlessly, hopelessly.
Sometimes I feel like a real live functioning adult, and other times I really feel like I've checked out of it all and am just coasting through the week. I'll admit, a lot of that has to do with this new work schedule. I always get tired at midnight.
I want to get more into cooking and reading and less into the internet. But when my work requires me to keep up to date with Twitter and Facebook/Reddit is an easy way to pass time at work (as opposed to a physical book), it's harder to avoid. This is why I've been moving toward ebooks so I can read them at work during down periods.
And sports I follow mostly by scoring updates now, since we got rid of cable. Trim down your life, I guess.

Keeping track of social media etc would get pretty draining. Hopefully during your leave you have some respite from it!

Checking the Internet/social media is so reflexive. @__@ You've been doing your reading rounds-ups, so that's been going well! *cheering*
I hope Taro's surgery went well 🐱

Reading is a good distraction if I can keep focused! I have random mysteries, romances and fantasy books lined up, and even though I'm reading more now, I always feel like they don't "really count" like I should be biographies or other nonfiction books instead. Ah well. Will we never stop feeling like frauds? Who am I even trying to impress??
Taro's surgery was postponed 'til tomorrow (Thu) ahhh but thank you. ♥
