dramas dramas everywhere

I'm rewatching Goong/Princess Hours! It's so cute. (I forgot how much I loved Yul.)

I've also found sites that have way too many K/J/Tw dramas for me to download, and I'm afraid it will make me fail out of college. D: But I am so tempted by It Started With a Kiss (because I'd be able to understand it!) and Akihabara@DEEP, among others. Full House, maybe. I haven't seen so many of the classics! I'm a terrible 3D fangirl and it shows. I was all over the 2D until these boy bands got a hold of me, damn them...

But it's okay because I'm managing to stay on top of homework--in fact, I'm ahead. Let's try to stay this way~

EHB10 was pretty awesome, but I'm dying for episode 11. HOLY SHIT PREVIEWS. SO HARDCORE. It promises many, many lulz, oh yes.

I will find time to reply to comments, I swear! Just...not at 2AM after 6 hours of work, k? Bear with me! ♥

I HIGHLY recommend It Started With a Kiss and Full House! ISWAK is mostly happy/funny and Full House is a Korean drama. >_> But still good. :D AND YES. EHB 11 looks like the *appropriate adjective inserted*. Very very cool, anyhow. ♥

[identity profile] emeraldcrystal.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I seem to be the only one liking It Started with a Kiss, but yes, you should be warned the girl is dumber than dumb. But it's good for laughs and I guess I'm just all for the happy. And there's pretty much no big couple switches, which I was grateful for. Too much revenge and backstabing is not good for the soul. =P

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh dumb girls make me sad. But I'm all about mindless happy entertainment! And couple switching gets on my OTP nerves, so! It has potential. I may yet like ISWAK. And if I don't, well, there are many other dramas out there, thank God. :D

[identity profile] nittle-grasper.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
I personally couldn't take more than a few episodes of It Started With A Kiss. I'm not a fan of "guy lowering himself to girl's level, awwww isn't that nice and patronizing of him" kind of shows =| Seriously, though, there's acceptably cute "stupid but nice" and then there's "stupid and STUPID". /rant

I'm showing my dormmates Super Junior. Some of them think I'm crazy, but I've gotten one friend completely addicted =DDDD

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I've gotten mixed reactions to ISWAK but I kind of wanted to at least give it a try because it's such a "classic" in twdrama. Or so I hear. If I end up hating it (I can't say I'm a fan of dumb girls either), I will move on and find something worthier to wtach. Any recs? :D

Or I could stick with SuJu & EHB. Conversion is the way to go! ::celebrates with you:: CONVERT TO THE NEW RELIGION. 13. GOOD LORD WHY 13. I mean, what.

[identity profile] nittle-grasper.livejournal.com 2008-01-19 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you seen "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" yet? That's pretty classic. I just got Goong and finished the first episode. I can't say the girl's grown on me quite yet, but I like the guy =D;

As for J-dramas: Nobuta wo Produce, Nodame, Strawberry on the Shortcake, HYD (though you've probably seen that one).

I'M RUNNING OUT OF SUJU VIDEOS. PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER PIMP POST SOON (since you have a future now) T__T

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-20 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen that either. And I want to but I think it's licensed by YA entertainment now? ;_; Which means it's even harder to get than before, bah.

I'm a total sap, I guess, but I loved Goong. Oooh, wait til you see Yul (the other guy). *G* Everyone loves him.

I've seen Nobuta and HYD (kinda) but I'm kinda hesitant about J-dramas for now. HanaKimi fandom really ruined the fandom at large for me a bit. I'll have to get over it soon.

OKAY I WILL WORK ON ONE. Since we cannot have deprived SuJu fans floating around. ;o;

[identity profile] 2naonh3-cl2.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I hate you, only I really don't, because I'm writing SUJU fic for you. --_--;;;

And as much as I enjoy it, I'm writing Kpop RPS! This is the sound of my soul dying a little. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
lakjsdlfk ARE YOU KIDDING? This news is way too :D-inducing for me to process properly. Please link me to whatever you write! I will say a prayer for your soul and all will be well, because there will be pretty, pretty Korean boys. I mean, what. ♥

[identity profile] 2naonh3-cl2.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I should end up posting sometime this week. Thus far it's one gen future fic and another that's Kangteuk...which makes my soul die every time I look at it. I can't believe that I'm writing it, considering the fact that I haven't written fanfic in over two years and it's RPS...o.O The things that you make me do, Mei.

Also, how can you make me enjoy writing Kangteuk? Huh? They're not even my favorite Suju members!!!

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh do link, do link! I am not reading the flist currently so I will miss it if you don't pimp it my way. But KANGTEUK. I cannot miss it. :D And they are just too sexy and pervasive and married for you to avoid, even if they're not your favorites. Heheheh.

I should inflict pretty Korean boys on my flist more often, I think. Plans for a post of gay gifs is in the works~

[identity profile] 2naonh3-cl2.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
kekekekekeke. You are EEEEEEEVIL. ^o^

I will totally make sure to pimp this-a-way, so you don't miss it...which would be completely missing the point since the only reason I'm writing it is so you can read it...but I can't promise that it'll be any good. I haven't really been writing in narrative voice the last year or so. --_--;;; My skillz are diminishing. grr.

Either way, they both should be up by the end of this week, so expect an email or something Friday or Saturday.

Now, I need to go back to writing about my big gay boy band.

[identity profile] thyme-hawthorne.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I...hated It Started with a Kiss. It made me so angry inside. Seriously, this is like my Ayn Rand level of hatred.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I remember your unending hatred for Ariel Lin. Damn it, I just want to watch a drama where I can understand it and be proud of my awesome Chinese skills. You should rec me a decent twdrama (do they exist?).

[identity profile] thyme-hawthorne.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I... haven't watched twdramas... ever now. I tried to watch My Lucky Star or whatever it was called but it was equally retarded though the girl was moderately pretty. Her voice was so grating though. It is like Chinese people are determined to discourage young people from ever getting into a relationship by writing dramas that ALL THE SAME. The guy is a driven, super intelligent being who has a long past of beautiful women who he eventually rejects for the Girl. The Girl is a not very attractive, moralistic, innocent/naive, whining simpleton whose only redeeming quality is her persistence in pining over said guy. Some weak attempt at plot ensues.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh twdrams, WHY MUST YOU FAIL. :( Our culture denies us. It's tragic. Maybe I'll just stick to good k/j dramas for now. Your description sounds valid for the few twdramas I've watched (other than the tw HanaKimi) and they piss me off. Gah.

[identity profile] phasera.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
whoo, well for c-dramas, the ultimate for me has to be Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu! sooooo adorable with the BEST main cast and BEST OT3 in existence! (ella/jiro/wuchun♥!)

other than that, my favorite dramas are mostly all Korean... which a lot of people seem to be scared of? (YES there are horrifically angsty and tragic k-dramas out there, where pretty much EVERYONE dies and nobody gets the one they love and it's like Shakespeare wrote it for them, tragictragictragic.) But... I don't watch those. XD There ARE Romantic Comedies out there, and they're actually getting a lot more popular, too! :D

Watch Coffee Prince is you haven't! everyone who hasn't seen this has a little Coffee-Prince-shaped hole in their heart, that they don't yet know about. ;~;

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh, I've seen the first 5 or 6 episodes of that! I liked it. ♥ It was hilarious and it made me probe Fahrenheit--but then I got distracted by shinier (dancing-capable) K-bands. :D;

I love to make fun of the tragic K-dramas, but I tend to prefer the romantic comedies. Give me cutesy fluffy and laughter any day. I have angstfics if I need a good cry, honestly.

Oh yes, I've heard awesome things about Coffee Prince--and I've seen all the parodies, whee~ That's definitely on my list!

[identity profile] satora-chan.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Do these sites us direct downloads. If so, would you mind sending them this way? 0:3 (heeey, that's either a cat with a halo or a rabbit with a large mouth!)

I... didn't really like Full House. I made myself watch the first five or so episodes to see if I could hit a groove anywhere, but no. There was intense cringing on my end the entire time, so I stopped.

[identity profile] peachpastiche.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
http://community.livejournal.com/jdramas :D?

[identity profile] satora-chan.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
... you know, I'm a member of that, and yet I keep forgetting it exists (>_>)

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
http://silentregrets.com/

I kind of want to attempt Full House just because it has Rain/Bi. I also have a fairly high tolerance for cheesy romance? Idk, since I haven't actually seen it, but I want to give it a try!

[identity profile] peachpastiche.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You know I'm all about the J-dramas, though lately I've been burying my head into the sand and watching Charmed. But if you'd like to watch some stuff in Chinese, I say you should try Peach Girl and Mars :3 (Yaaay manga adaptations.) I also have some long list of recommendations I sent to Pallas, if you want it? :D

[identity profile] peachpastiche.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Also I only watched a couple of episodes of Akihabara@DEEP but I liked what I saw so far. :)

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried to watch the first episode of Mars, but I had to stop because the female lead made me want to kill myself. She was the same girl from Meteor Garden (if I'm remembering correctly, if not, she was just some other girl who irritated me to no end) and I couldn't stand her acting.

But maybe Peach Girl, hmm.

And thanks but no thanks for the long list of recs. XD I appreciate the thought but I'm still trying not to fail out of college. ♥

[identity profile] peachpastiche.livejournal.com 2008-01-17 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I don't think it's the same girl. I haven't watched much of it yet though because I am inevitably distracted by shinier things. Peach Girl may or may not annoy you, but I like the lead, and, really, I mean, VANNESS.

(And I will take that last comment to mean I can spam you to high hell once exams are over!)

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-19 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait wait VANNESS IS LEAD? I may take a look into Peach Girl...heheh.

[identity profile] peachpastiche.livejournal.com 2008-01-19 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Vanness = Kairi = loooooove

although you know, this is before like, super sexy Vanness. But it's where I like him from.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-20 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm, that's okay, I will make an attempt at it anyway. I'm currently watching Coffee Prince. :D

[identity profile] danii06.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahahaha, Full House, It Started With A Kiss, and Princess Hours have been around Philippine local television for some time now. Granted, I've never been able to watch any of it (coz my tv is for the sole purpose of video games lately), but a lot of my friends watch them and god, they fangirl it like mad. Though admittedly, Full House seemed kinda interesting with its premise. :P

Don't work too hard! Stay healthy and eat more!

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2008-01-16 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so jealous of Asian TV. D: I am so jealous of Asia, period, sometimes. But I figure I have stuff to be grateful for too, it's just my own fault for not being more into Western culture. XD; Oops.

I'm trying to stay sane and healthy! I will work on the eating bit! ::loves::
