WEDNESDAY June 04

We had jja jang myeon for lunch!! It was...good but not that amazing. And neither was the zha jiang mien (same thing) we had in China. Um. Maybe we just like spicy food too much?

Michelle taking a picture of our dinner, as she was obsessed with taking pictures of food

Bulgolgi! So delicious. Totally my favorite meal, I think. And look at all those side dishes!

I couldn't even squeeze everything into one picture...

Shindong's favorite food. :D I totally trust his taste now over everyone else's. Seriously, you guys. Kimchi fried rice and jja jang myeon are both good, but this was kind of amazing.

Inside of KBS Radio!

Idek why.

See? Flags.
THURSDAY June 05

In the morning we went to Changdokgung Palace, but it was pouring.

Oh look, we saw Rain in Korea. ::kicked::

Looks a lot like...palaces in China. I should be more impressed but, er, I wasn't.

Picturesquely posing with an umbrella, hoyes.

More interestingly, look at this giant worm next to Michelle's foot!

Idk who this is but she reminds me a little bit of
lille_bean so I had to take a picture. :D
Looks a lot like Chinese palaces...I fail at being terribly impressed.

Looking for a place to eat that day, we passed this amazing sign.

Woo Kwangbok-oppa, the Ph.D student who showed us around Seoul. This is right outside Seoul National University's Museum of Art.

On our tour of Seoul National University, we saw a ton of protest signs by students against their President (and the whole mad cow disease issue).

Ahaha.

On the rooftop of Kwangbok-oppa's College of Natural Sciences. Michelle and I believed many an epic K-drama moment could be re-enacted on this rooftop.

In the distance, a temple!

Below, a river!

Oh this is our other matching outfit of the trip. It was kind of amazing, lol. Idky Michelle is holding a random plant...

Dog meat with Chinese chives!

Soup of some sort or other. :D I clearly knew what I was eating.

The impromptu drinking party with our hostel buddies after dinner out with them. We kept saying, not too much, we have to be up at 5am (for the SJH fansigning lol), and they kept making fun of us. It was awesome.

Me showing off the strawberry milk we had out with the alcohol. Never drink it with soju, btw, but it's alright on its own.

After 7 or 8 shots of soju, Michelle was pretty tipsy. (This was the night we ate live octopus! But those pictures are...not on my camera. So. It was amazing, though.)
FRIDAY June 06

Christian Broadcasting System- oh Korea. This is the building right next to the music store for the SJH fansigning.

In the square where all the ELF were congregating to wait for the CD store to open to buy their copy of SJH's single, there was Jackie Chan's restaurant! Too bad it was 6:30 in the morning and not open, haha.

After abandoning the SJH fansigning because we couldn't understand what those hordes of ELF were shouting about in Korean, we passed by the SBS building!

SBS!

Because we didn't have watches or cell phones, the only way to tell time was to either look at our iPods or to, as I did, take random pictures of Michelle and then read the time display on the picture of my camera lol.

Wandering around Myeongdong, this is the kind of stuff you see in the windows of their clothes shops. Aissh.

The ground entrance to the understore fangirly shop. Amazing, isn't it?

Still in Myeongdong, one of the street vendors.

I told you guys we saw Rain in Korea. Everywhere.

YEH was also kind of everywhere.

For some reason or other (I forget), Michelle and I had a delicious waffle with ice cream for dinner. It was amazing, okay? I love waffles. This was at a coffee shop...Korea freaking loves its Western coffee.

The hostel owners had a cat who was the cutest, laziest thing ever. It was sleeping 90% of the time, active only when it was mealtime, when it would mewl complaintively and try to eat everyone who tried to pet it, haha. It's curled up on my bed, which totally surprised me. We leave our door open a lot when we're at the hostel, because it's tiny and we can see everyone, anyway, and then I went in the room after a while, sat on my bed to watch TV, and then nearly shrieked because OMG BLACK CAT ON MY BLANKETS. I almost sat on it. ;_;

Later that night we went out for gelato! Yummy and, yes, very Western.
--
So those are my pics from Korea!
On Saturday morning, June 07, we got on the bus to the airport and flew back to Beijing, where it was so hot because it hadn't been raining all week like it'd been doing in Seoul.
Seoul = amazing. I'd so do that again. :D

Oh dear, that would be rather traumatizing. That sort of happened to me when I was seven, except they killed an enormous fat black pig (that kept squealing), and the last time I went back when I was sixteen, they killed a chicken. :( But not a dog!

also, i. errgh. that jja jang myeon doesn't look very appetizing to me. s-so much sauce...i had zha jiang mien once and i could only eat about a third of it, it was so saucy and rich.
I PREFER SPICY THINGS AND CHICKEN, PLS. D:
also, that rooftop looks eerily similar a scene in coffee prince.
and holy hxc karaoke. .___. looks like the lobby to an expensive hotel?!
no subject
Jja Jang myeon really isn't my favorite type of food either, but I wanted to try it. Honestly I prefer spicy things and chicken too! :D And all sorts of weird Asian food, ftw!
Dude, if you think that karaoke place was hardcore, wait until I put up the pictures of the one from China. It was a skyscraper. It had a gold elevator and a buffet service! IT HAD PIMP LEATHER SEATS OMG.
no subject
LOL, i'm too white to get into the 'weird asian foods,' but i do love me some chicken. i really think i could eat chicken forever, i-i love it so much. orz

Arranging the trip? Ahaha. We mostly just decided we were going to go and so we worked our asses off for a few months to earn the money, then bought tickets and...yeah. Our parents complained but not too much because we were set on it and we were paying for it, so all they could really do was help make sure we did everything right (like get our visas).
Oh man, I so want to go back to Korea and China in the fall/winter but daaaamn school. D:

Some of those dishes make your mouth water, and skimming picspam pics of food just before bed is bad, because now I'm hungry.
Totally stomach over mind.
Love the see through worm...and your posing of course.
XD
Actually I'm quite enamoured of your pavement in the rain. Quite picturesque.
