if you just let me be happy with you

Back from my travels afar and safely in Singapore, slaving away over two essays I have due tomorrow. But this note just has to be said:

I just put on SJM's new album to listen to for the first time and as soon as I hit track #2, 命運線 (Destiny), I started tearing up. Because this - this is cpop. This is sort of everything I've ever wanted from SJM (save a Qmi duet, always a Qmi duet.) I love the Super Girl minialbum to depths and breadths that cannot be conveyed in words, but this album-- This is cpop。 This is cpop (well, aside from track #1, which is kpop that just happens to be sung in Mandarin) that makes the twelve-year-old in me who wavered between her Chinese and American heritage so happy.

Judge away if you want, call me ridiculous (I am), but this isn't even fangirling, this is just happiness. Oh SJM, there are only so many times I can pun that you are too perfect, 太完美, but it's so fucking true.

From the hotass perfection that is Perfection to Mimi's lyrics (you total sap, forever and ever) to Henry's ridiculously catchy song to Jay fucking Chou and Kyuhyun's marvelous Chinese pronunciation. What do I have left to say but, Oh SJM.
