bring on the sunshine

1. Elephants. They are the greatest. Highly overrated: pandas, koalas, sloths. Elephants, particularly baby elephants, are the greatest.
Octopodes are pretty great too. So smart! Unfortunately, also so delicious, but I feel so bad about eating them.
2. China line best line. ♥
I don't really keep up with kpop anymore but I'm always so happy to see my China line do well: Amber with her solo "Shake That Brass", and Zhou Mi looking like a buff jock recently (freaking me out, btw), and Fei pwning Running Man with her awesome cooking skills. I'm also super happy when my bbs get support -- from each other and their other friends. (ChangKyuMiToria forever. Amber/Ailee friendship! Zhou Mi/all his girls. Yesss.)
EunHae are adorable but, my god, their new song is terrible, lol.
3. Tangentially, I think I've left SJM Guest House alone long enough that fan groups have had a chance to sub the episodes. I should go look into those.
4. Heyer. Heyer novels always make me happy. I've been getting into rereading some other Regency romances by more contemporary authors, but none of them quite capture the same tone and atmosphere that Heyer does. They're fun, but so far Heyer remains the favorite. I recently wraped up a reread of Frederica. A delight.
5. The dear old fandoms of my heart: Here is Greenwood, Macdonald Hall, Ouran. Took a quick cruise through some of my favorite fics in those old fandoms and they remain gems. I may make some time to reread Slam Dunk in the upcoming months (far more likely than ever rereading/catch up with One Piece) and maybe catch up on some of the longstanding BL manga that have finally had more scanlated. (KomaHoshi is ONE VOLUME from finally being fully scanlated. I think I've been waiting for this for literally a decade now. Holy Christ.)
6. Oglaf is still hilarious. I appreciate how it is so freely diverse with its characters' race and sexuality (perfect, since it's in a fantasy land anyway), but mostly I enjoy it for being funny. (NSFW)
Man, I have shoveled ice and snow off my car and driveway two or three times this week and I'm sick of it. Winter, begone! The upcoming forecast promises sunny and more average temps in the 50s, which I only hope is true. I need spring and warmer weather and the ability to wear dresses (if only all dresses had pockets!). I am glad for the longer days and more light though.
