It's June! June so far has consisted of (1) going out a lot to all my favorite food places and places I wanted to try before leaving with all the friends I need to see before I leave this city, and (2) organizing the crap out of this move, following up with our apartment folks, insurance, USPS, bank, etc. Watch me adulting, Mom! (Actually, she doesn't. I sent her an update email and she and my dad were both like, cool, sounds like you have things very organized. Very dismissive and assuming I will handle all my shit. And I will! But it's kind of nice to have that belief coming from your parents validating your independence and adulthood.)

Things I learned today: if you complain about a certain bank on a public Twitter, they will find it and tweet concerned tweets at you, pointing you at a helpline (that was really not that helpful, all told. I still had an automated line and hold music until I could get a rep). If you praise an insurance company for being great/responsive, they will also find your tweet and thank you. And if you tweet a question at the public handle of that insurance company, their service reps will rapidly try to help you online (via Twitter!!) and, if they can't, ask you to DM your name and number so a super friendly rep can call you almost immediately and fix all your problems over the phone.

The insurance company wins this round, I gotta say. But I find it hilarious that customer service has basically moved to social media now.

I'm excited for a new place, a new life, a new adventure! (Texas is going to be quite an adventure, let's just say.) But, man, I'm gonna miss my friends (and the DMV) so much. ♥
