Me, yesterday, browsing manga at a local comic shop: I do approve of classics being released in omnibus form now! Can we sell complete ebook sets too? Why is this not a thing publishers are doing? I have no shelf space.
Me, today, browsing Amazon: Apparently this is totally a thing that publishers are doing!
Me, and my bank account: Shit.
I love and prefer my books in paper format, tangible in my hands, the feel of paper under my fingertips with that great smell of new (or old!) book. But goddamn, is a complete set of manga in ebook format attractive because of all that saved shelf space (and god forbid I ever move again, saved box space and weight).
BUT I WILL RESIST. Mostly because I have a budget for a reason and I am adult enough to abide by that. I swear.
And there's really something about becoming an adult now that the legal, paid-for copies of this stuff is attractive. I loved those free scanlations that got me through the years and introduced me to these series, but there is something to be said for high-quality translations and consistency.
