FANDOM MAKES ME FEEL SO OLD.

Seriously? Seriously? How are people like Fuu and Chris and Anna going unheard-of and unappreciated and underrated now? They were the authors I stalked when I first got into fandom, and they still hold the top spots as my favorite fandom authors. Like, wtaf. YOUNG FANDOM IS SO YOUNG. All you n00bs are doing it wrong, sob.

That was facetious, jsyk, but oh god. You guys. Really?

Here are some of my favorite fandom authors everyone interested in good, hot, sweet, funny fic should read:

I also enjoy a lot of other authors but they weren't included in people I stalked when I first joined fandom, or people I continue to stalk now. And, yes, I will admit right now that a lot of this list is biased by my flist - I went and friended a lot of these awesome authors. It's how I roll, yo. There are a lot of new talented authors I haven't read, I know this. But this list is my personal stalking and favorite list, even if they aren't all prolific and churning fic out twice a week (...though some of them are, those crazy girls). And I absolutely think they are all worth a read, especially for those first coming into SJ fandom and looking for goodfic.

NO COMPLAINTS UNTIL YOU'VE READ ALL THESE, OKAY? Then you can, like me, start feeling old and bitching about how there is no good new fic in fandom. (Because, yes, obviously I can and should dictate how people should fangirl in fandom. It's part of my job as Fandom Princess...for which I demand a tiara and also KiHae!)

...speaking of which, you guys, there is no good new fic in fandom! T__T new KiHae. T___T

xD i used to have a list of authors in sj fandom that i recced, but i realized it was an outdated list as many of them had moved on to other fandoms. *sob* if you thought you were old...

:| i think it's coz fuu just went through a dry spell that new fans don't know about her - but seriously, she's certainly one of my favorite authors around. x-x so unbelievably talented - i love her way with words

alskdjflkd clings to you. Seriously, most of the SJ portion of my flist have all been in fandom way longer than me, so I always felt like I was new and young and 'omg what's going on?' So me feeling old in fandom is just...totally bizarre. ;__;

Yeah like Mai said, if you feel old, I've been stalking miracle and the awesome writers practically since it was opened! XD And there are so many that have moved on that were wonderful back in the day *~*

Having said that, I agree with your list, and a lot of my own favourites on there too! Although I'm surprised to see that I don't recognise a few of the names as people I've read o_o

With so many updates a day, I think what happens is that if you don't post regularly, no matter how good you are, the average reader on the comm won't see your name, which is why a large portion of that list have slipped through the cracks and gone unrecognised during recent reccing posts! :(

I love my "old" flist like I love SJ - because you guys make me feel less like waving a cane around proclaiming about how when I was your age, Pluto was a planet! Etc. XD

Eee, who don't you recognize? I would definitely rec them - obviously, haha. There are a few other good writers I don't stalk religiously but whom I know produce pretty quality fic (twilightdrug, kang2urteuk, sellmyseoul, tablospoon, etc.). But everyone up there I kind of heartmark like crazy over.

Yeah, I think you're right about the frequency of updates thing. I feel like people are just lazier than before (imo XD) because I trawled around for good fic and found authors to stick to and trust. Idk what these young'uns today are doing!

I shamelessly demand people write more, haha. But I never really hold them to it or expect them to. I really just like to whine loudly about fandom, but I never really nag people (I hope...). I think it's easier because I only do it with my friends and we know that no one really means it in an entitled sense.

Not that I have time to write, myself, for the moment. Plus, still blocked.. ;__;

ikr? i didnt check miracle for a while and when i came back, i guess i just felt so deprived of kangteuk fanfic that i just checked whatever got my interest, but after a while i kind of got fed up of the, um, not so great fics, and ended up just checking like direct comms/ljs of 80? 85% of the authors you listed above (my list includes you of course ^^v) and i spy some authors i have never heard of before and this makes me incredibly happy because for a while when i got sick of badfic i kind of felt pathetic for going back to the early fanfic writers and just saving thier stuff and reading them over and over bec, omg, i thought i was a total sucker for kangteuk but i realize i do have my limits too >:-/

what to do abt the noobs though. i mean it would seem mean to discourage them from writing since they are young and they are entitled (or probably need to) go through this stage where they write really wtf stuff before they (hopefully) progress to better writing. idk. i remember tobias wolff saying how as a teacher he realizes how much power or influence he has over his students and so you just shouldnt destroy them or thier dreams of writing or whatever. so maybe the rec-team over at the comm is a good idea. maybe its subtle brainwashing (lol) here please read this fic, this is what actual goodfanfic is kiddies ♥

ugh stalking you, but thanks for the fic writer recos, i love discovering great new writers and fics ♥ i also recommend anwuya she wrote this amazing AU and its just asdjahdfajdfhaj great if your sihan, kangteuk shipper. no kihae though, sorry. but donghae has ridic number of kids and is all "until we have enough for a soccer team!" .o/ or whatever. maybe it was just a basket ball team idk. just imagine how much sex he and his wife has to have all those children!!!

Ahhh, well, as pretentious as this post comes off, it's really just a rec list of authors who write really really good fic, imo. :D I hope you go take a look at the authors you don't know!

(I totally do not mean to discourage any n00bs. Everyone should try their hand at writing! I was just kind of despairing that people hadn't read/recced my favorite authors, haha.)

And eee thanks for reccing anwuya. I'm always looking for new good writers to *__* over.
