Awesome Things

★ Kyuhyun falling onto the floor laughing at Zhou Mi's voice crack, because he is just that kind-hearted of a person. Seriously, I couldn't stop grinning at this. They are such real friends. I love it. Kyu is snarky and awful as usual and Mimi is so embarrassed and all hitting Kyuhyun to make him stop it, but ending up smiling anyway just because Kyuhyun is. And the hug~ ♥ Even if I didn't ship QMi like mad, I'd fangirl their friendship dynamics. (Lmao at Ryeowook having to adlib Kyuhyun's line because Kyuhyun is too busy doubled over laughing on the ground.)

★ Teaser for Zhang Li Yin's new single! Eeee look at how pretty it is. The pics remind me a bit of Ariel Lin's Firefly MV with the beach and the pale colors and all the dreamy, floaty prettiness. And, you know, Donghae. Donghae. He is so attractive and would make the best boyfriend ever, okay? Do not question this. Li Yin's dress is pretty and she is cute and the only thing I don't like are her straight bangs. About 4% of the female population can pull them off well - it just kind of makes everyone else less pretty than they are. ;___; But omg excited for her new song - songs in Chinese! Her gorgeous voice!

★ SHINee's new single is so very WTF and yet...still catchy. How do you do it? (Also, Minho, please please please get a haircut, jfc.)

Slightly Less Awesome Things

☆ Straight bangs. Seriously. I was rewatching SHINee's Replay MV yesterday and alskdghd Vicotria is so gorgeous in it. She is just...so pretty. Why can't she have hair like that again? I am not a fan of her straight bangs right now. It's not flattering to her face, ugh, why Asia, stop it with the straight bangs.

☆ Unpopular fandom opinion time! I'm sick to death of people fetishizing Amber one way or another just because her concept is to look boyish. Seriously. Her voice is not that low, her face is not that masculine, and I love her and I love her concept, but can we take a step back from the gender role stereotyping, pretty please? I would actually also apply this request to the part of fandom who thinks Zhou Mi is nothing but a big girl. :( I joke about this all the time, too (maybe I should stop), but, really. Girls are not the only ones who are allowed to care about fashion and be scared of small bugs; nor do or are many of them!

I can't lie, the thing that attracted me to Amber to begin with was how supposedly boyish she was, only it wasn't, OH SHE HOLDS DOORS OPEN FOR GIRLS AND HELPS THEM ACROSS THE STREETS, HOW BOYISH, it was OMG SHE SOUNDS LIKE A SWEETHEART :( because she really did! and then the teaser came out and honestly, I love her because she seems so fucking awkward at this idol thing, it's totally endearing.

What annoys me about it is the way everyone goes OH SHE'S A GIRL SHE MUST WEAR GIRLY CLOTHES when jfc, she can wear what she likes. She's clearly more comfortable in boyish clothes -- and who wouldn't be, there was no skirt on what Krystal was wearing in that Chocolate Love MV -- and just, rawr, she's so ~controversial~. Basically I love her for being awkward and a sweetheart and not because she's A BOY.

NANOWRIMO. MAN NANOWRIMO IS GOING TO ROCK THIS YEAR.

I love that Amber can rock the boy clothes, but, yeah, mostly I love how awkward and cute she is. :D And how she fangirls SJM and is basically just awesome, yees. But so fucking tired of fandom sometimes, really. Let her do what she wants. If she wants to wear boy clothes, cool; if she wants to do something dressy, that is cool too. Let her like boys if she wants, girls if she wants, no one if she's just not feeling interested in relationships, jfc.

HELP ME THINK OF A NANO PLOT BC RIGHT NOW I AM WRITING THIS:

Henry didn't notice back then because, well, to be honest? He doesn't pay that much attention to Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi. They're nice and Kyuhyun is fun to play games with (even when he trounces Henry at the Wii occasionally - occasionally), and Zhou Mi is always smiling and helpful if Henry needs advice but... But Henry usually hangs out with Ryeowook and Donghae, and jokes around with Siwon and Han Geng. It's just the pattern their dynamic has fallen into, natuurally, and he's never really made painstaking efforts to change it up. Besides, Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi are typically off in their own little world, always whispering things to each other whether they're on camera or on stage or in the van or wherever. It's their thing.

Henry kind of just accepted that. So he didn't notice that their thing got a little fucked up somewhere along the way about a month ago. He's not entirely sure why (he feels like he would have a better idea if he was paying attention from the start but, you know, since he wasn't, he can only work on what he knows) but he has his suspicions. He has seen the way Sungmin looks at Kyuhyun and the talk of how they used to be close, and Henry is positive that if he's heard about it, then Zhou Mi certainly must have, being around Kyuhyun all the time and such.

Even though her concept is boyish, I feel that Amber makes for a gorgeous girl. She really does. She's boyish, not butch. She's still got a girl voice and even it her outfits, she's still got a feminine vibe to her.

Same with Zhou Mi. He's scared of bugs and spiders... so? If it wasn't there before and all of a sudden it's there, I'd be terrified too. Males with fashion sense are awesome too. But he is all man.

Apparently, Amber's always been a little tomboyish, which is fine. It's how she wants to dress and it's what she likes. But tomboy =/= boy and it never has. It does not make her a boy who just happens not to have a penis. It just makes her a girl who prefers pants over dresses and skirts. I remember people flipping their shit both ways when she dressed up in the boy Chuseok hanbok. People were like "omfg she's so handsome, I love her" "I'm a total lesbian for her" and there were others that were like "That's so not right, even if her concept is a little more masculine, she's still a girl and they should've put her in the girl one." Personally, I thought she looked good in it, but that's because the male hanbok looked like something boys AND girls could wear, even though that's not the case. Plus, it was in a color scheme that was more feminine and balanced it out, so it complimented her very well. She looked good, end of story. Can we all say that without pretending to question our sexuality over it?

And I love what constitutes being a tomboy nowadays. I remember growing up and it just meant a girl who used to prefer overalls over skirts, liked what was considered "boy" things like playing sports over barbie dolls, etc.

And I see Zhou Mi walking around in clothes that compliment him and his body type. I don't see him walking around in skirts and tanks and dresses. And if he wanted to, then damnit, that's his choice. Same with Amber.

We don't see either of them 24/7 so we can't determine their full personality or how they fully function as human beings and that includes style.

I kinda wanna see Amber in a dress to see just how many people she'll throw off, y'know?

But I haven't even decided if I want it to be a boy or girl orz. Or what she/he/it will be doing, but hey! One slow step at a time...
