the curse of the red pot

I swear every plant I put into this red pot is cursed and keeps dying on me. Or...I need to stop buying ferns or succulents because I can't fucking figure them out compared to all my other plants.

Our fancy fundraising gala, Asia Society's Tiger Ball, took place last Friday. It was very successful and gorgeous and I got to wear a fancy dress with fancy hair. It was fun! I'm glad it went well, but also glad it's only once a year and things will calm down a bit. Well, our programs and other planning continue, but the overall mood of the office won't be quite as stressed around this one major event.

Read Georgette Heyer's The Unfinished Clue and Eden Finley's Deke this weekend, and now gotta tackle my waiting sequels: Crooked Kingdom in the Six of Crows series and Wundersmith in the Nevermoor series.

Saw The Lego Move 2 last weekend and the songs keep getting stuck in my head. Tiffany Haddish's songs in particular are fucking fantastic.

I have given up on succulents inside the house. Not enough (well placed sun). The only place with enough sun is probably the kitchen sink and that's not very convenient for my other sink requirements. I am hopeful my fern will not die. Hopeful!!

yeah I think at least the plants I keep accidentally killing need more sun + humidity in general. Maybe I need to select better plants for keeping in the house. :( Good luck with your fern!

I have a subtropical climate helping with my humidity (though I suspect once winter comes along, more frequent mistings shall be required). I have kept a jade plant alive and indoors for months now! So there is hope (it is a semi-succulent, I think). I just looked up care instructions and I... have not kept to those instructions. It does not get full sun and I have definitely let it dry out before >.>;; still alive which is the important things!!

I have specifically looked up 'best indoor plants.' Alas quite a few aren't cat safe, which is another criteria to consider.
