Depends on how much you love Cpine? The movie is....fairly ridiculous and boring but CPINE PLAYS DADDY TO AN ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL AND THERE IS LOTS OF ~ANGST~ AND ~CONFLICTED-FEELIIINGS~ and generally I skipped through all the scenes without Chris but he was pretty adorbs in it.

(I actually have to interject and say ~eh~ about the fic. The writers themselves are pretty epically awesome so I would recommend reading their other stuff but personally I found that fic unrealistic and OOC at times - what you MUST MUST MUUUUUUUUST read is dorkarific's Pinto (http://dorkorific.livejournal.com/77392.html). Emotionally stunted totally-pining-but-not-pining boys with their distinctly hipstery intelligence and literary references.)

Chris being very mushy and constantly holding Zach's hand and being soppy and girl-esque romantic; they being someone out about their relationship; Zach bending to Chris' will and being very ~boyfriend-y~; them actually talking about their feelings as if they were girls. IDK. I prefer dysfunctional Pinto where Chris is mostly straight but not entirely (the one who seems like a typical frat boy but is actually very insightful and intelligent0; Zach as more outwardly forthcoming and snarky/witty but keeps more inside than Chris does in actuality. Their idea of fun being one-upping each other in obscure literary references and extensive vocabulary.

I mean my impression of them and their relationship/interactions is based a lot more on interviews and knowledge about their personal music/book/theatre tastes and how that translates to people I know in real life.

Ahh, yes I can see waht you mean about the characterization you'd prefer. I would probably prefer that too, but I'll have to read both fics first.

Though I don't like society associating "talking about feelings" as something only girls would do. Some characters (e.g., Dean Winchester) would definitely feel that way, but Dean's kind of a misogynistic douchebag a lot (well, so is SPN in general). Irl I am hoping people can slowly move away from gender stereotyping! Guys can talk about their feelings too! Not all of them would or do, of course, and Chris and Zach might not, which is fine.

Yah I don't like that either but I couldn't figure out another way to describe it off the top of my head lol. But its not just talking about feelings - because male or female, gay or straight, you pretty much have to say something in order for the relationship to actually start. But that like exaggerated back and forth exchange where they say exactly what they think and the other person responds exactly in the right manner as would ideally be expected in a perfect relationship (which I think we all know, doesn't exist) and I guess I've kinda come to associate that expectation with overly idealistic female expectations of relationship. I mean I'm a girl, and even I don't always "talk about my feelings" in a way where I tell the truth all the time and lay it out - I don't think anybody in real life does which is why I hate it in fic.

Dude SPN is on TNT now so I watched 2 hours every day - did you ever notice how Dean's voice gets lower and gruffer as the seasons go on??! LMAO. And yesterday it was Season 4 and Jared was all big and ~demony~ and buff and then today was Season 1 and Jared was kinda wishywashy and skinny and SO MUCH LIKE HIS CHARACTER ON GILMORE GIRLS *DEAD*

I think it might be more prevalent to "talk about feelings" in females but I'm still hesitant to overgeneralize because not all females (or males, for that matter) are the same. But definitely agreeing with you - while the "laying it all out" might happen sometimes irl, I definitely don't think its common enough to make it necessarily believable in fic especially with characters who don't show any characteristics leaning that way.

Ahaha SPN season 1 - I rewatched the pilot a while ago and flipped out at how skinny Sammy is. 8D I miss Dean's not-so-gruff voice though! ♥

hahaha! Well I don't usually watch but when its on TV and I'm just sitting there anyways lol but I don't like the SPN fandom tbh. They freak me out o.O (for a fandom on incest and the supernatural - they're rather quick to judge and insular in my experience) plus I tots ship Dean/Castiel, Dean/Anna, and Dean/Lisa - so basically Dean/everybody but Sam b/c well...i think that's pretty obvs lol. But at the same time, even if there were a fandom for the latter two, I'm not actually that big on reading het in fandom, even if I ship it in the shows. Ergo: J2 FANDOM! Where the boys are pretty and grope each other in public.

IKR?! There is like NONE. AT ALL. Which is so perplexing to me because THEY ACTUALLY DID GO TO COLLEGE. And they're both such book nerds and literate. So you would expect that should UP the changes! But nooooope. It makes me want to write college fic where they all go to NYU because I can totally see Chris choosing between Berkeley and NYU (obvs this time picking NYU) and Zach going to Tisch or just moving up to NYC after graduating from CM like he orig planned (ALSO ALSO ALSO APPARENTLY MATT BOMER WENT UP TO NYC AFTER HE GRADUATED CM SO LIKE WHAT IF ZACH CHOSE NOT TO BECAUSE MB IS HIS EX BF AND AWKWAAARD)
