HAHA THIS POLL. So, I am from Philly, but my mom married a man from the south and now lives in Virginia and she started saying y'all and I was just like asdfgh what is that. Her husband will say goodbye to me as, "bye, y'all," and I am all like NO NO IT IS JUST ME. JUST THE ONE. Once I tried to have this conversation with him about the phrase "all y'all" because I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IT. Y'ALL IS PLURAL AS IT STANDS. HENCE THE "ALL" PART.

There are some things I will never understand, it seems. I ALSO DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND WAFFLE HOUSE, SO.

HOW DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND THE PLURAL OF Y'ALL. :((( hahah no it makes no sense, I agree, but I have acclimated to the Southern ways! And I have so much more fun saying it than I should, considering I have no other Southern traits in my speech normally.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh WHERE IN NORTH CAROLINA, it is my home state (well, close enough to home considering I've given it at least a decade of my life now). Also I don't really EVER use all y'all, but it just amuses me to ask people what the plural of "y'all" is because they all look so confused. I do enjoy using y'all to address a group of people though!

YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Though I'm not one to talk because I love iced tea and cornbread but I hate grits...

Truefax: I really really hate American Coke but when I was in Japan I drank SO MUCH OF IT. Mostly because there was no Pepsi and I wanted cola? (and cola's really easy to say and I was trying to stick with easy?) The different HFCS makes.

Also, my still-Californian brain says "all y'all" is a redundant phrase but everyone here uses it. Drives me NUTS.

I'm pretty sure I use "y'all" all the time, but I've never used "all y'all". It still amuses me to know that's how it's pluralized though! Or "alla y'all" works too, so I've heard.

I suck at drinking soda because I nurse it for ages and ages until it goes flat. orz But I still prefer Coke to Pepsi whenever I do drink it.

I don't think my 'y'all' plural really counts, as I live on the West Coast and only hear such things on tv.

My friends know that I will hold a good portion of conversation while pouring sugar in my tea, not looking at the cup for several seconds at a time. It's probably better to say that I like a little tea with my sugar.

My vote for Coke is only because it goes better with White Russians than Pepsi.

heheh yes, sweet tea is the way to go. Though sometimes an Arnold Palmer is nice, just for a fruity touch.

Coke is less sweet and more fizzy! Pepsi is more sweet and less carbonated.

haha oh my god I realize it makes me the least texan person ever but I abhor iced tea. I only like hot teas!!

also guess what, interesting tidbit: I don't use y'all anymore. I did in early high school but then in my last years of high school I talked to my online friends so often that now I use "you guys" instead. sometimes I am sad I have lost my y'all, but for the most part I'm not too choked up. I'M JUST GLAD EVERYONE ON THIS PAGE IS SPELLING IT CORRECTLY. I see red when someone spells it "ya'll"

Lol, I tried to explain myself in the answer box for the plural of "y'all" but my answer was too long. "Y'all" encompasses everyone and you can't have more than that so you can't pluralize it... right? But anyway, I'm Canadian so I rarely hear people say y'all or any plural of it.

I believe the plural to a plural is "all" due to rap music and it being such a contradiction.

ALSO! It depends on the tea I drink, but most cold tea in Korea is green or white, and about 11 out of 10 are 0kcal, thus tastes just plain weird if it's sweet. Black tea though, I need sweetened.

Yeees indeed. And it's kind of cool to see what kinds of tea people drink and how they drink it. I drink basically all the teas ever and sometimes I want my black tea sweetened and sometimes I don't. But green tea should...never be sweetened... :(

I just had to comment to flail about the Nando goal(!!!) and the celebration! I sometimes don't know what to do with him(even though he played with my emotions during the WC and I miss his old hair) :DDD Ngl though, I don't follow follow Liverpool, it's my brother's team and he keeps me posted. So I came home and he sat me down and then we watched the goal about 20 times.^^


Also it's real late here and I almost said "y'alls" but being from California y'all is something that people only say hypothetically(like "jolly good").

AHH SOMETIMES I AM AFRAID NO ONE CARES ABOUT FOOTBALL HERE. ;__; There are not enough Liverpool fans around, woe, but at least we can still celebrate Nando together. :D I'm excited for Spain to be playing together a bit! Liechtenstein on Friday and then Argentina next Tuesday~

haha if it barely makes sense to US citizens, I can't expect people outside the country to get it. It's true, we make no sense. Don't worry about it. It is kind of a trick question (because it's such a colloquial thing) but it definitely has a right answer: "All y'all" is how we roll. :3
