and now the end begins
HP7.1 = ♥
I legit had so many problems remembering the plot of this book because it kept blending together with fanfic plot in my head because hello, Deathly Hallows was basically fanfic. I loved it, whatever.
Of course, now I am missing this fandom so hard. Fic, here I come.
Now the final wait.

I loved it in the book but to see a movie of it wouldn't be so great.
The epilogue of the book was all fanfic. Totally, totally not canon. Or maybe there was subtext that I never noticed?
Re:
Epilogue? What epilogue?
And that's my stance on the whole thing haha.

I WAS FILLED WITH EMOTIONS ABOUT HARRY HERMIONE AND RON -- TORN BETWEEN "AHHHH OMG TRIO AMAZINGNESS! BLEAKNESS! LOVE!" and "WHY IS RON SO UNBEARABLY STUPID, WTF."
also draco: brilliant. ALSO LUCIUS. ALSO SNAPE. omg malfoyyyys!

The pacing was nice, I thought! Because they weren't in a rush to force a climax. But stuff still happened! And there was humor! AND OH GOD THE RIDICULOUSLY RIDICULOUSLY SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT/AWKWARDNESS OF CERTAIN SCENES. I.e., the Harry/Hermione dance scene (which was sweet in a horrifying I don't want to watch this way) and just...every time Ron talked to/about Hermione, basically.
THE MALFOYS ARE BASICALLY MY FAVORITE IN BOOK 7. I wrote, like, a 3 page essay about it when the book came out haha. Reading H/D fiiiiiiic.

THE MALFOYS. THEY. ARE. MY. HEART. snarling lucius and his ragey alcoholism and decaying family traditions, draco way in over his head, oh my godddd. REC ME SOME FIC IF YOU FIND GOOD STUFF, I SRSLY DON'T THINK I'VE READ ANYTHING WRITTEN IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. omg. take a look at my lj, me and chibi_lurrel are both in team: MAKE A MOVIE ALL ABOUT THE MALFOYS, srsly, that is a thing that should happen. just a whoooole movie (not book) about the malfoys deteriorating and spiraling into panic and dissent and depravity in their enormous echoing mansion of loveless marriages and pointless tradition.

YES A MOVIE ABOUT JUST THE MALFOYS WOULD BE LOVELY. Seriously, they are so fascinating because they are not nearly as pure evil as JKR probably originally intended them to be. They are all shades of morally gray and that is interesting to me. Lots and lots and lots of HP fic, I honestly had no idea where to start. I barely remember all the ones I've read before either. But uh...going through these recs (http://marguerite-26.livejournal.com/tag/hp%20recs) for the moment! Will let you know if I read anything utterly fabulous and does the Malfoys justice.

haha, i have way more of a problem with draco being, like, nice, than draco being good. like, even if he did see the error of his ways -- which i could see happening -- he is still fundamentally a vindictive little bastard. so while i did spend years reading tortured romance and/or post-hogwarts fluff epics with, like, auror school followed by dinner and dancing, i now am more like: YOU MALFOYS ARE ALL DOUCHEBAGS, YET YOU MESMERISE ME.

Ugh yes, so much agreed. I can see Draco working for the "side of light" as they might be, but he would still be a total bastard about it. His personality's not about to make a 180 (though I will buy some deviance from book-canon since presumably he is older and wiser and none of us are as obnoxious and dumb as we were at 15, thank god).
