Yahoo is shutting down Delicious bookmarking service.

(insert Mei freaking out - this icon has never been more appropriate!)

You can export all of your bookmarks. (Delicious → Settings → Export/Backup Bookmarks)

+ One existing alternative is Pinboard.in, though it requires a small fee (that increases with the number of users, so if you want to hop on this bandwagon, hop on it ASAP). It operates exactly as Delicious does (for bookmarking; I don't think it has the same subscription capabilities, which makes me sad). Pinboard allows for importing or mirroring of your Delicious bookmarks.

I registered with Pinboard because, whatever, I already pay for LJ, what's $6 for a bookmarking site when I'm already thousands of dollars in debt (thank you, law school). And also because I am stressed out enough right now; I can't deal with fandom bringing more stress. Of course everyone has different priorities, so do some more digging for free alternatives if you'd like.

Now I will return to freaking out about packing/cleaning/moving IRL. I think I need another coffee, oh god.

ETA: For the record, I am meitachi on Pinboard.

I know. I repeatedly hit some kind of 'page not found' problem on it, which I think was caused by the great migration :/ And I tried to import my Delicious bookmarks but it's still on pending (why so long) now.

Check out Diigo, possibly? It allows importing from Delicious and it's free. Have never used it so not sure how it compares to Delicious but it's an option.

Here's hoping Yahoo will have a sudden change of heart or something. :(

My bookmarks have been imported! :) Yours should be over there soon. I have poked around and realized there are no tag bundles and no subscriptions though. D: No page that lists all the tags and no way to double-up on tags while searching (e.g., searching STXI then within STXI tags search K/S). I am full of D: faces. #SAVEDELICIOUS dammit.

Oh also take a look at http://www.xmarks.com/ (which is free and supposed to be very good, but not sure if you can export/import Delicious to it).

Hmm, I signed up for Diigo & imported my bookmarks; I think the site says it takes a while though?

I checked out xmarks, but I only imports the first 100 public bookmarks (well, you can dl a syncing toolbar, but I'm kind of ehh about that). Do you like Pinboard so far?

hmm like I said upthread, Pinboard is missing some functions I've come to rely on heavily on Delicious - e.g., tag bundles, tag subscriptions, list of full tags, etc. But otherwise the bookmarking/tagging system is the same so I guess it's all right? My bookmarks have been imported in successfully with all the tags/notes so I'm grateful for that at least.
