it's not fall yet

What a strange, long week it's been. Started off really early on Monday with our Dubai conference, then a "quieter" week with no programming and yet so much planning and logistics keeping me busy every single day until roughly Friday, which was more laid back and included a fun lunch with a coworker. And then a long Saturday helping out at our Jaipur Literature Festival, where I bought two books and got them signed. My to read list continues to grow, ack.

I'm 1/3 of the way through my Slam Dunk reread! Hoping to tackle more of that today. Was going to clean the apartment too, but am very tired so we'll see what kind of progress I make later in the day. Also trying to pick up more regular time at the gym, make good decisions there. And plans to see people and do things but in a low-key way, like birthday drinks with B and seeing Hustlers with M. Life is full and that is good, but it's just always constantly trying to find the balance.

Hockey training camps are underway! Thank god my hockey feed will be hockey again, and less golf. Football too, both versions, though I care much more about Liverpool than the NFL or college football -- not only are my teams not doing great, it's hard to root for and watch given all the headlines about CTE and other injuries (as with Andrew Luck) ruining lives.

Can't wait til the weather breaks and it's finally fall. I want to move into a fall wardrobe!

What did you end up buying? And yes, keeping control of a to read list is a constant battle. Why must there be so many good books published! Though this has been a weird year, so far, where I haven't reread anything.

Best of luck with the event planning!
