I have, like, this strange desire, Bina, to start dropping commas, all over, just to make up for all those people, who just, you know, aren't using the Oxford comma.
Sadly, I feel as though that may be even more painful to read. D:
BECAUSE I HAD A TERRIBLE ENGLISH TEACHER WHO GAVE ME GRIEF ABOUT THEM AND IT'S RUINED ME. :((( YOU TEACH ENGLISH, HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THE OXFORD COMMA?
How terrible! On another grammar note, I used to put two spaces after all my full stops, but I think the internet indoctrinated me out of that habit...
I was never one to use two spaces, mostly because I would never remember to do it uniformly and thus things looked weird. I'm sure the internet had something to do with that.
There, there, it is only apparently from a department style guide, and has nothing to do with the actual Oxford Press - but any institution bearing the name Oxford, imo, shouldn't be allowed to do anything but embrace the Oxford comma. WITH GUSTO.
but it is so much more satisfying to be overdramatic about little ridiculous things than real things! there is much less actual anger and despair involved, for one. :D

Journalists, however, don't. Pah on their style guides!
