Back in NC from a long weekend (Fri-Mon) in DC with

swingingstars,

suxing, and

thyme_hawthorne. It was so good, so good. 10 months since I'd last seen Lille & Louise; three years since I'd seen Michelle. We rode out a hurricane, played Life, sang karaoke, cooked and ate and drank, went to the Baltimore aquarium, watched silly things, did nails, took ridiculous pictures, determined our futures via MASH, and overall had an amazing time. Three August birthdays to celebrate all together! I'm only sad I didn't get a chance to hang out with

intomorning this time around; schedule conflict seguing into weather conflict!

Sorry I sort of dropped out of touch for those of you who messaged or texted - I am here and alive, but exhausted and a little bit sick, I think. D: It's all the missing of my girls, I think.

Thank you, thank you (belatedly) for the birthday wishes and gifts. Hope you guys are all doing well (and that anyone who had to deal with Irene is okay!). ♥

Your nails are lovely. I just seriously don't know how people manage to paint their nails so elaborately, it's sooo time consuming (especially considering I peel the nail polish off within 15 minutes of it drying). >_>

...can you explain the My Little Pony thing? I watched the first episode and did not feel enthralled.

I never used to bother with my nails! But then I got friends who were really enthusiastic about it so I sort of got swept along in my curiosity and experimentation. :D

...how to explain MLP? haha, well, to be fair, you should probably watch at least 2 more eps? The first episode is very much setting up the backstory and introducing the characters. I don't know, I just find it hilarious and adorable: obviously very straightforwardly a girls' show, but with intelligent humor and great personalities. But I am biaaased.

Look at those nails!! They are so pretty! and of course when friends get together, MASH must be involved. I cannot imagine a situation in which that is not true.

I like these latest MASH results; my RL should conform to them ASAP. :D ...I'll work around the 30 kids somehow.

no, no, I have it on very good MASH authority that I will end up marrying Cillian Murphy and living in a house by the beach with three kids while driving a Porsche. I like these results. I am going to keep them. :D :D

N, N, I want to complain to you about writing and how it is impossible. How on earth do you keep on? /envious

Writing is near impossible. I think it's only that 0.1% we cling onto, but when we do make that thousand-odds-in-one jump, it can be spectacular. D: But still, that's a lot of jumping. (What are you working on?)

I am working on nothiiiing. Because writing is ridiculous and I am in that place where I hate everything I write and everything I've ever written. D: I can't jump; I can't even find the cliff to leap off these days. /whines forever

alskdhfdkjf pretty much sums up my feelings. I just want to read, but reading makes me want to write, only I hate writing and everything I write. It's a tough cycle.

something I find helps somewhat when I'm blocked is to write in bits and pieces. Sometimes I will take a story I want to write, and try to condense it into a drabble or a paragraph -- try to write the meat of it in small ways, as a prelude to tackling the bigger project. That sometimes helps?

Though I know what you mean. There are times when I hate reading everything because it reminds me just how terrible I am, sadly.

also oooooooo nails, :3! they look like my nails atm, except mine have a bright peach base and my polka dots are bigger. :') I should take a pic too hmm

ALSO, tyty, I got your letter! :) I will get around to replying as soon as I make myself buy stamps one of these days, :3.

polka dots! They're fading already though because I wasn't very good with my topcoat (distracted rewatching STXI haha). New nails soon!

And come on gchat or skype sometime and we can definitely rectify your MASH deficiency.
