OMG HAWAII FIVE-0 PREMIERE.


Flailed with mardigrasmaven the entire time.

Highlights:

HIIIIROOOO I mean Masi Oka I mean Bergman is ridiculously geeky and fabulous and SO GREAT IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE I LOVE HIM. ENTERPRISE KEYCHAIN, WARP 9 LICENSE PLATE, CORRECTING YOUR YODA ASSUMPTIONS. Hell yeah.

I dunno how I feel about this Danny/Rachel/Stan storyline. (I would like to see more Gracie though, aww.) /moving on

CHIN, CHIN IN A UNIFORM IS SEX. CHIN IN A BLAZER WITH AN ALOHA SHIRT IS SEX. CHIN WITH A SHOTGUN IS SEX. I approve in all fashions.

Steve is badass. Steve has sexy, sexy arms. Steve can run and leap and take people down even with a gaping stab wound. Let's go back to the sexy arms and the nice thin shirts.

Kono is still ridic pretty and holy crap, look, she is clearly the most kickass out of all of them because she didn't even have to go through SEAL training to be this awesome. She's just naturally this way. Also, that shirt is really flattering color. I could stare at you all day, Grace Park. Your face! Your expressions! SHE CAME KICKING OUT OF A TRUNK.

Oooh, a badass Lt Governor who is going to make Steve McGarrett abide by rules. I anticipate stand-offs in the future!

What is plot? Seriously, I don't even care. Convenient plot devices move things along so they can throw in the standard end-of-episode twist.

End of episode twist: Omg Wofat is sneaky and evil and kickass. (And looks good in a suit.) OMG JENNA. /feelings!

Now I'm done and back to staring at the mindless pretty and running with guns. :D Hawaii is still gorgeous. There's a boat ride and a helicopter ride. Where's my bingo sheet?


Some complaints:

Can we have some girls in this cast who are not dead or evil, please? Kono is fabulous, but she doesn't need to carry the show all by herself.

Boy, we have a lot of white people coming in as main characters: new team-member (male), new team-member (female), that guest star for the next ep...

Crossing my fingers that Danny's character will go back to kind-of-a-jerk but with a heart of gold who banters and bickers with his work-wife/life-partner Steve McGarrett without crossing into the capital-A-Asshole territory.


Conclusion:

Pretttyyyyy. Is it next Monday yet?

I actually laughed a little bit at Steve instantly being suspicious of his dad for being dirty when, hi, come on, obviously he is undercover! There are rules to these sorts of things about main characters - but particularly white main characters. So many white main characters...

Whatever, I am here to look at Kono and Chin and Wo Fat (I can't believe they killed of Kelly Hu, boo) and also Steve's arms. :D

Grace Park has always been badass and gorgeous! She is great here and finally coming back r e a l l y slowly to her weight class.

And may I add James Marsden. No matter whether he is the bad guy or the bad guy he will always capture my attention. Spike was Spike for reason.

I am so bad at watching TV shows (when they're not cooking shows haha) because I have no attention span and would rather be reading. H50 seems to be an exception though - I love all the pretty! And Asians! And ass-kicking! :D It's cool to see it on network TV.

I've heard a lot of good things about The Good Wife! Sunday is getting closer~
