Truth: I raged a lot at the "updated" format of LJ's entries and comments yesterday. I have since decided that as grumpy as it might make me, I can live with the ugliness (why Arial of all terrible fonts?!) as long as functionality (Parent/Thread/Expand links for comment threads, alphabetical ordering of userpics, subject lines, mobile access, wtf did they do to screened comments) returns. LJ's promised that they're listening to feedback. Great. It would've saved you some time to just not make shitty changes in the first place, rather than backpedaling, but whatever. Just fix it.

Two things of note:

1. All users can now edit comments, regardless of whether you have a paid account or not. You can't edit comments after someone's replied to them already, of course.

2. If you've ever attached an active credit card to your LJ account for automatic updates, check the status of your account payment. LJ may have auto-enabled automatic updates. Which I'm pretty sure is illegal? Um. Actually, you should look into that regardless of whether you've ever used automatic updates, because reports are coming from people who've never touched it.

As I have just discovered, omfg how ugly are poll results now too?! You know, the more I read official posts and (non)responses from LJ, the angrier I'm getting again.

I'm meitachi on Dreamwidth and in all honesty unlikely to move (don't hold me to it; I'm getting angrier yet!), but I'll use it to keep track of those of you who do, so drop a line if that's where you're headed.

I go away for a week for exams and I come back to fire and brimstone :| So everyone can edit comments now? Or is that just part of the free paid time they are now applying? Also Arial is a really ugly font

I could probably live with the fugly comment pages if I were using LJ for more everyday/normal purposes, but these days I spend an increasing amount of time on kink memes and the like, and they're basically... unnavigable is a good word. Which makes me rage! And idk idk, maybe I'll ~settle down~ after a while once finals are over and I de-stress, but in the meantime, I am grumpy and tired and generally NOT HAPPY. So yeah. WHY LJ WHY, THERE WAS ALREADY THE DELICIOUS DEBACLE IN SEPTEMBER, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME NOW, I CAN ONLY HANDLE ONE INTERNET-RELATED CRISIS PER YEAR SO PLEASE STOP-- /privileged-first-world-whinging. :(

... for all my complaints though, I must concede that the everybody-can-now-edit-comments feature is nice. It's just everything else that makes me D:

This is true! I know some anon comms have found a workaround by fiddling with the CSS of custom comment pages, but it's such a hassle - and something that really shouldn't have been necessary because this stupid "update" should never have been rolled out. Breaking what hadn't been broken at all, wtf.

Oh Delicious. It's mostly back on its feet, I think? But in a weird way. I'm still sticking with Pinboard.

I was pretty up to date until the last two days, haha. I saw that longfic! I was saving it to read but I must have opened it on a day I was cranky because I couldn't get more than 1000 words into it without feeling like it was badly written and OOC. :/ But it has so many good reviews?! I may have to try again.

I have to get back to OP too. ♥ Oh 449 only - took a loooong break! There are SO MANY THINGS to read!
