:( :( :( I get how it works (I read the Wiki page but remained distraught) but I still don't understand WHY. I guess I just don't understand the idea of watering down your coffee. Maybe it's just the concept that boggles my mind, because if you think about it, drip coffee is essentially just...less concentrated coffee beans + water, so espresso + water can't be that bad, right? /squints

Although you do make a good point - Starbucks serves terrible drip coffee and they do tend to burn it, which is why I only ever get lattes from them. Dunkin over them every time!

IDK. IDK. MAYBE I SHOULD TRY THEM AGAIN AND SEE IF I HATE THEM LESS.

I see you can't disagree about how terrible Coors Light is though!

The only way to win with drip coffee is, like, specialized non-chain cafes or making your own. Which is why I have my own coffee maker and it is my babyyyy. /cradles

Also it saves a ton of money. Oh coffee addiction...

I don't always drink beer but when I do, it's Dos Equis Blue Moon, lol. Or an IPA. Although I suppose I've been conditioned to not hate Tsingdao/that other Chinese beer...

In St. Louis it was Budweiser everywhere. ;__;

An investment I should make, obviously.

Demand one for your birthday! :D

I would, but I'm demanding Jeff Skinner for mine.

I am terrible with beer in that I mostly don't drink it, but I have had enough to know that Coors Light is So. Awful.

But maybe I need to revinvestigate Americanos and see if there's a version I don't hate as much! It's possible Starbucks just ruins everything. A mission for this weekend!

(P.S. How go your finals? Have you survived all your papers?)

That's probably it. I've only ever had Americanos from Starbucks and it really did just taste like watered down bitter crap. It made me go WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER DRINK THIS WILLINGLY?

...I still question people who drink Starbucks Americanos, then, but I'll go see if another place can make me hate them less. :D

Good luck!! You'll be done so soon. :D

90% of the time I end up in Starbucks it's because there's one right there and it's just...the most convenient for caffeine fixes. They are everywhere!

I find most coffee too bitter so I'm strictly a mocha lady on the rare occasions that I actually drink coffee.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to feel that way! But...the more you drink, the more it sucks you in, lol. I guess it's kind of an acquired taste if you have it often enough?

bitter bubbly stuff? I mean, it's hard to describe. Have you never even sipped some underage? My parents would let me try and then I'd be all EW GROSS DNW. It worked well enough, lol.

If you hate coffee, you will hate beer. A lot of this stuff is acquired/cultivated taste after you keep forcing it down. Then when your taste buds are beaten into submission, you will develop a fondness for certain flavors!
