I also feel like I don't talk enough about my love for the Caps because I really, really do love them and wish to party with Ovie and Sasha. :D (Also, Mike Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeen. Someone needs to get me drunk so I will write that Green/Laichs drunksex on Brooksy's kitchen table fic I've been swearing since forever I'd write.)

Dude I kind of ship everything/G right now. G/MAX TALBOT YES PLEASE. Somewhere Danny is seething with jealousy but convincing himself he has no right to and it's stupid, Claude is a healthy 24 year old dude and Danny has no claim to him so WHATEVER. IT'S FINE. IT'S TOTALLY FINE.
Except G's hookups are all casual and everyone comes in knowing that because G has been pining for Danny for ages now and feels stupid about it because obviously Danny doesn't see him as anything but a teammate, an ex-housemate, practically a kid. Claude hates feeling so young after he's already been through so much so he rebels kind of by very determinedly living up to his age and playing beer pong and video games and going to bars with Hartsy and clubs with Max and not at all being jealous of Coots, who gets to stay home in the Briere home chilling with the boys, probably watching boring movies and eating take-out with Danny.

I know the feeling. I sort of ship the douchey Carts/Richie marriage, but I'm also tired of hearing about how loltragic it must be for the Flyers (let it go! the Flyers are happy for them!). I do want them to sweep though! :D
...and then next season, yes please. In the meantime, trying to convince hockey players via telepathy to make a hilaribad video of them rocking out to Call Me Maybe. They all seem to love the song enough.

Carts & Richie were traded from the Flyers last summer, then Carts joined Richie in LA in Feb, I think? So it's only been this past season and it's a pretty big deal since they were on the Flyers team who made it to the SCF in 2010 (...then lost against the Hawks!). So the fact that they were major trades away from Philly...and then ended up on a team that's made it to the SCF again while the Flyers haven't... The media hasn't let it go, lol. I'm tired of that narrative though, so tired. BRING IT ON, NEXT SEASON.

I was just talking today about how hockey fandom doesn't have any "stumbling across fandom" fics yet. "The internet thinks we're fucking!"

I think there's one where a couple of players are making fun of fic featuring someone else? But mostly I feel like it's too horrifyingly plausible in a RPF fandom to write fic about? So we get jokes on tumblr instead that certain players are probably tracking their own tags, oh shit, this would be the most embarassing, etc. Plus hockey players would be the absolute worst at dealing with it. Like, the SPN cast clearly does know RPF exists, but they're at least socially adept and willing to find it amusing and troll everyone while refusing to read any of it. The best reaction I can imagine from most of the fannishly popular players is uncomfortable side-eye and brushing it off as weird gossip column stuff, and mostly I think they would be seriously weirded out. They don't seem comfortable enough with being semi-celebrities to deal with it! It's way too much embarassment squick for me, though obvs that shouldn't stop other people if they think it's funny.

Alternately: G and Danny have some sort of poly/open relationship thing and G hooks up with Hartsy sometimes. (Hartsy is all for this arrangement because it's sex without any attachments he's not ready for.)

It's in the news all the time, too, like that pig that predicts the winner or smthng and some students protesting over how many channels show the games.
