Had a great weekend with starflower135 visiting and seeing efio_47, v_greyson, and _la_belle_fille.

- watched The Dark Knight Rises and enjoyed everyone but Christian Bale. The ending made my biased heart happy.
- had feelings for stupid Jonathan Toews' stupid hair omg
- delighted everywhere at this delightful Broshie is the love of Tazer's life fic
- no but, seriously, Broshie, why are you such a #hartnelldown fan, it's kind of the best
- watched Running Man and remembered how much I love that show ♥♥ Korean variety shows are my favorite
- dreamed that I was at a Backstreet Boys fansigning, wtf brain

Olympics soon! In the meantime, this Monday is a polar bear Monday:



I hope your weekends/Mondays are going better in gif representation. Everything just takes so much effort, man. I have so much crap to do as an adult this week; it's pretty awful. Being an adult is so much work. :(

I can see where it'd get mixed reviews. It's definitely not the best movie ever, but I think it's entertaining for what it is, despite my aggressive apathy for Christian Bale. And I do think everyone else was fun and I do, I do really like the ending, despite its somewhat cheesy quality. I mean, it's following certain comic book tropes, so I accept that.

You have not had a disturbing dream of the wtf brain variety until you've had a dream where you argued that marrying your mother might screw up your relationship and it's better to leave it be. Hell, at least my subconscious was against this, still traumatizing to wake up after that though. I won't go into detail with that dream, seriously wtf. #youdidnotsignupforthis #iamsorryforsharingcreepily

I've always been disturbed by Christian Bale actually, due to his extremely murderous essence. And he works so hard to rid himself of his natural essence and build up new ones for his characters(the crazy method actor that he is) but it only goes so far, so about half of his essence is a newly created one for this particular character, and the rest of it is just crazy intense murderous Christian Bale to me. Which actually works fantastically for me when he's playing psychotic murderers(hello American Psycho) but the rest of the time, when he's playing protagonists, no matter what the character, if it's played by Christian Bale I can always picture him snapping and killing everyone in the room. I do quite love Christian Bale is at your party (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8oIDvCl6lA) because it has an insane Christian Bale who scares me, so yeah.

But how were the movie's female characters? I'm always a little wary of Nolan's women characters. I love both the actresses though.

...that is indeed a WTF kind of dream. Our subconsciouses are strange, strange things, aren't they? I wish I had better dreams about, say, Claude Giroux. /cough Although I think the first time he appeared in my dreams he was dating one of my friends? So that was weird and also sad, haha.

I don't know what it is exactly about Christian Bale that bugs me! I just don't care - like am aggressively apathetic towards - about any character he plays. Maybe he's just not good at eliciting empathy or sympathy? Maybe it's his face. :| It sucked, though, because I love Bruce Wayne/Batman and he should've been so much more interesting to me in the movies. Alas.

Catwoman and Marion's character both surprised me pleasantly. :D I don't think 've seen anything Nolan besides the previous movies in this trilogy and Inception, but both female characters in TDKR were much better/had more agency than Mal or the previous female ~love interests~. I was enjoying them and rooting for them in any case...

I've been going out of my mind since Wimbledon ended. NOO MY SPORTS. Really excited to see the opening ceremony and then GYMNASTICS especially. :D What are you looking forward to?

:O Ooh so actually a lot of stuff! The timezones are kind of a pain but I think most networks will also be rebroadcasting? Either way, it is a lot of exciting stuff and I'm just really glad there's something to watch - I mean, beyond Teen Wolf. But TW once a week is not enough to sustain me, especially since every ep leaves me going WTF JUST HAPPENED.
