SO MANY PANDAS in New Jerrrrrse
Big Bang Alive Galaxy Tour in Newark (11/09) was kind of a religious experience. I mean, I wanted about 90% of all the fans to burn in hell and I definitely wanted to get to know all of Big Bang in a biblical sense. That counts, right?

sapphynashi, mardigrasmaven, and transitorial) were EXCELLENT. The multitude of lines were endlessly long, people were incredibly rude, it went from too warm to too cold, we nearly got crushed to death getting into the soundcheck, and it was unbelievably hot and crowded in the pit. There were these incredibly awful people in front of us and I hated them with the burning passion of a thousand suns - but holy motherfuck when that concert started did you forget all your bitter resentful complaints. I will note that only in kpop do the VIP tickets entail paying out of the ass to get in line for 10 hours then stand in too-close proximity with a bunch of people for four more hours where half price tickets get you comfortable seats and a better view. Jesus.
That said, nah, it was worth it, completely, because we were literally two feet away from them at an amazing spot where all five members came by throughout the concert repeatedly to sing, dance, thrust their tightly-encased thighs and crotch at us, throw towels, flirt, and do aegyo. We sort of collectively spent the entire concert screaming, singing along, waving around our stupidly large light-sticks, elbowing other people out of our ribs, and flailing alternately about OH GOD HOW ADORABLE AND FAIL and OH GOD HE'S SO HOT WHY OH MY GOD.
Sometimes I feel like I am too old for this shit - but really, that can't be true when the concert makes me feel so giddy and happy and young. The clusterfuck surrounding the con? Sure. But oh the concert itself... Nothing like seeing them live.
There are endless fancams and fan accounts out there. I will just say this: worth the bullshit. Jiyong is a skinny motherfucker, TOP is the most adorably awkward and still unbearably hot, Taeyang is so into dancing his heart out and engaging the crowd, Seungri is...Seungri, lmao. A cocky endearing failboat panda. And Daesung? Daesung is made of maaaaaagic, holy shit, endlessly energetic and constantly making eye contact with fans and always smiling, dancing, singing his heart out. Also, HOT. Damn, those thighs. Those arms. That hair is so good on him. Honey, let me get on that.
(And somehow GD manages to still always be my favorite, you stupid broody tortured artist with a creativity bleeding out of your crazy soul. ♥ GIVE ME SOME NEW GTOOOOOP.)
The live band was amazing. The concert was practically nonstop for 3 hours, which was really impressive in terms of how much energy that requires. Daesung's wings were epic. GD's hair was epic. Taeyang was allergic to clothes. Seungri's English is made of fail but THE CUTEST THING. And TOP is forever always awkward adorable hot hot hot.
Some of my favorite things about the concert, in no particular order: the fans singing along to "Haru Haru", GD's totally-casual fur vest with an actualfax tiger head on its back for "Crayon", DAESUNG, the guy fan next to me losing his shit for Taeyang's "Wedding Dress" and every time TOP came near us, every bit of English coming out of Seungri's mouth, Taeyang and TOP forcibly stripping Daesung at the end then throwing his tank top into the crowd (all while TOP was wearing his shirt AND a fully-buttoned up letterman jacket WHY), GD almost being hit in the face by a flying stuffed animal and the expression on his face afterwards, Daesung's thighs, Taeyang forcing "Empire State of Mind" on us at every speaking opportunity, SO MANY PANDAS continually flying at Seungri, the fans losing our collective shit for "Lies", Daesung's arms, the fact they performed "Stupid Liar" (♥!!), GD making up a new rap in English for us, one line of which was "I'm only 25" where Sapphy & I turned to each other in utter dismay (WHEN DID WE GET THIS OLD), and also this:
This is a shit account because I don't have the energy to detail what actually happened, just my overwhelming reaction of feelings (so many!!), but
sapphynashi is doing an epic write-up to which I contributed "DON'T FORGET ___! OH ALSO ___!" so at least we'll always have that, and my numerous pictures of endless queueing and few blurry pics of the actual con before I got distracted by, you know, screaming at the Big Bang member two feet from my face.This has reaffirmed my never-dying love for Big Bang, though, who are now possibly my longest-running active fandom love at the moment, outlasting even Suju, and the only fandom that ever got two epic pimp posts from me: one back in May of 2007 and one from Sept 2011. (All the apologies for my younger self.)
Big Bang is VIP, always.
Time to loop all their music and rewatch ALL their shows. Because they got swag on stage but goddamn are they the most adorably dorky group of awkward boys off it AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. SO MUCH. Also, did I mention how great their music and performances are? I feel like that warrants a mention, but sometimes I forget that's not a given in kpop even though with them it really should be.

I nearly cried when the crowd sang Haru Haru, though I missed GD getting mopped in the head by the plushie.

Big Bang is AMAAAAZING. So true. My two complaints: TOP WHY WAS YOUR HAIR NOT BLUE? And WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS SING SUNSET GLOW & SOMEBODY TO LOVE instead of repeating songs for your encore? ;__;

I'm watching the fancam right now, and aw, TOP's dancing! GD is really skinny (lol, "broody tortured artist"). Daesung and Taeyang just walkin' around w/o their shirts, no problem. Your comment about how Seungri is Seungri is apt.
