for love of broccoli

I have two unwavering loves in my life:

1. Grumpy Cat.

2. Broccoli.

My feelings for everything else may come and go, wane and wax in terms of intensity, but my love for Grumpy Cat and broccoli are unwavering. BROCCOLI!!!

Last night I made buffalo chicken with pasta and roasted broccoli. Tonight - roasted garlic potatoes, steak, and more broccoli! Because broccoli is great.

Also, I shoveled my driveway twice (damn snow) and did laundry and deserve food rewards.

(Although tomorrow I may bake ginger orange oatmeal cookies because you can't live off broccoli alone!)

... This entire post just made me hungry. I too love broccoli, and your cooking sounds delicious!

Best broccoli ever - and super easy. Basil & parmesan are both optional as to your tastes. I usually skip both.

I AM ALWAYS A SUPPORTER OF FOOD. But seriously it's been so cold and I've been craving so much baking. I also wanna make scones.

SCOOOOONES omg if you ever have vacation time/money to burn, come to Oxford, and I will take you to the cafe with the most divine scones & tea (with proper clotted cream & jam!). It is literally right next to my college, and probably where approximately like 75% of my scholarship stipend winds up. /facepalms

UGH I HAVE BEEN DREAMING ABOUT PROPER SCONES WITH CLOTTED CREAM AND JAM FOR AGES ;____;

I really need to get to London someday.

Why is travel such a hassle of work schedules and money for tickets? ;__; Adult life is hard.

Broccoli is delicious. I've had it twice this week! once in a stir fry and once as a side for salmon. Noms.

It is so great. *___* I could eat broccoli every day of my life.

Ooh salmon, yum! Speaking of fish, it reminds me I have tilapia fillets to cook, mm.

I had steak, broccoli, and grilled garlic bread made from yuuuuuummy homemade ciabatta two days ago, then leftover broc for b'fast today along with roasted squash. I love it, too. And rapini, and cauliflower. I have a cauliflower in my fridge waiting to be smothered in a cheesy bechamel and baked for an hour.

This post made me hungry, and also I want some orange ginger oatmeal cookies, too. Because damn, it's cold out and all this snow sucks (though I did get 1.5 days off work because of it, so yay).

Oh yum, that sounds totally delicious. Garlic bread! *___* And I actually have squash sitting in my fridge waiting for me to get to it -- I'll probably do roasted squash too! And oh I love cauliflower. Broccoli is my forever vegetable, but I go through weeks of craving cauliflower (there's a yummy roasted buffalo version) or brussel sprouts or eggplant.

Haha, food always makes me happy. <3 I hope you get some cookies or yummy baking in your future! Perfect on cold winter days.

THE ROASTED POTATOES SOUND DELICIOUS. The main way I eat broccoli is steamed and w/ sriracha sauce (as a side dish). I am inspired to look up more ways to cook/eat it!

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2014-01-26 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
They're super easy! And delicious. Here (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/garlic-roasted-potatoes-recipe.html)'s the recipe I used, though I dashed some parmesan over the top instead of parsley.

Mm broccoli with sriracha is great. Anything with sriracha is pretty great, lbh. In above comments I linked the recipe to the Best Broccoli Ever, roasted in the oven, and you should definitely give it a shot. Really simple and so, so good.

sooo many yummy vegetables. I want to try making brussel sprouts soon! I just need to find some.. haha. Also I haven't had eggplant OR cauliflower in too long ;;;; all the vegetables everrrrrrr.

haha I've started eating mushrooms a bit, I still shy away from them if they're cooked by someone else, I don't like the slimyness ;;; but I slightly overcook them and go heavy on the flavour haha. also portobello mushrooms get an immediate YES bc ughhhh so goooooood
