It's a new social media platform that I believe was originally meant to be an alternative to reddit, so very community focused (similar to subreddits or LJ's comms), but now also boasting the ability to have personal blogs (see my link above). The creators have apparently been very good at responding to feedback and welcoming of fandom. It's in closed beta right now but I have invites if you're interested in trying it!
