It applies to politics, sports, fandom wank, random sexism on Twitter, etc. Really, the world.
There's a lot of discourse about that viral video and seeing the Asian wife as the nanny, and mixed race marriages, and I...just... Is it privilege to not want to have that conversation? As someone in one of those marriages, I'm kinda just like fuck you, and carry on. Maybe just a decided lack of desire in navel-gazing/interrogating the perspectives of my own marriage & its reflection of society. WHATEVER.
Maybe just consider that sometimes your gut assumption reveals exactly what implicit bias is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
