lskjdfl just read the first six volumes of Boy Princess by Kim Seyoung. It's so good. It's cute and funny and sweet and touching all it once. I want the last three volumes, NetComics!

I think you should all read it. :D It's licensed so you can buy copies for $9.99 each, or you can pay to read it online, or you ask me nicely for downloads, heh. (I have 1-6 but I might have the rest soonish? ::crosses fingers::)

Other people like it too. Review by Cynthia of Boys Next Door here, and some more reviews here. ♥ If you don't trust me, trust them! For all its cliche BL/shoujo plot, it's endearing. It also makes much more sense on the second read, because you can see the foreshadowing and have also learned to tell characters apart! :Db Always helpful.

Also, who's seen The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (other than you emcyclopedia)? Any thoughts on it?

omg I LOVE Boy Princess. :D I spent all morning reading it and squeeing madly over it. *___* I DEMAND the last volumes, I am dying. <3 It is a soap opera, I swear. Elena and Martin fascinate me for no reason that I can discern, especially cause I love Nicole and Jed so much more.

Saw the first half or so of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. It is a kickass show and turns every cliche on its head and makes you love it so much. I...still hate that ridiculous bubble style but eee the idea is awesome. I especially <3 Kyon's narration, because without it the show would just be weird.

alkjflkd I KNOW. I read all six volumes in Borders before and loved on it a lot 'cause it was so cute and surprisingly loveable despite my usual hatred for weeping girly boys and the like. Somehow BP manages to be awesome despite all the usual cliches. I don't even know how.

Such a soap opera! I get wibbly over Elena and Martin. I think Glewhin is hilarious, and Reiny, too, and oh I am kind of torn on Shahi. I think Derek (crown prince) is fascinating (why does he do that to Shahi? is it just 'cause he can? or what? :O!!) but I don't know if I like him yet. But the backstory about Jed & Reiny's mother explained so much. I can't wait for more omgggg. So incoherent. (Also need food and sleep, oh excuses.)

Oh Kyon. I've heard good things about the show. Must download! (Do you have any preferred pairings for it? Just curious.)

Reiny is the funniest girl ever. Especially with...crap, I don't remember his name, but he's one of Nicole's older brothers. xD; So many plots in their lives! And I have no real opinion on Derek (I think I'm subscribing to the "because he can" theory with a side dish of "obsession" with a dash of "twisted love?", but if I am completely wrong on it, I wouldn't mind much). xD

I like Itsuki/Kyon, but unrequited and one-sided, because, well, don't piss off Haruhi; iunno, I can really see it in Itsuki. Kyon's always getting edgy by Itsuki being too close to him and smiling at him too much. I adore Kyon/Haruhi because it is just so completely misguided and confused and jealous between the two of them and, on Kyon's part, completely oblivious. Actually, I just adore Kyon period. Best narrator EVER.

His name is Glewhin! There is also June. I like them both. I like everyone! There is probably not a single character in the series I dislike, though obviously some of them are not meant to be sympathetic characters (oh Derek). I think they're all fascinating though, if not outright fun and lovable (Reiny, Nicole, yay!). I can't wait to read the rest of this series. Omggg, please generous person who uploaded the first six volumes and promised the last three soon, please upload soon.

I have already been exposed to the fabulousness that is unrequited Itsuki/Kyon which both makes me sad and happy. I have also seen possibilities of Kyon/Haruhi (without watching the show, I am clearly amazing). alskdjfld Triangle fic would be amazing and so sad. It would be beautiful. I should watch the show so I can read fic, heh.

Triangle fic--well, there kind of is a triangle going on already, I am in the suspicion that everyone in that SOS Brigade is in love with Kyon in their own way and he is just too dense to notice and they don't want to piss off Haruhi so she ends the world or something--would be awesome. I CANNOT FIND FIC. D: Anywhere.

I have no idea how Boy Princess manages to use every cliche possible but makes them awesome. <333

The series is pretty funny! I've heard people proclaim it to be the best thing ever, but I wouldn't go quite so far. But a very enjoyable series ^___^

i just finished reading volume 5 when i saw your post. what is with all the cliffhangers -- every volume seems to end with a cliffhanger, and i want to read volume 6 to find out what is going on omg, but i don't have the time. D:D: the story line is so convoluted, yet captivating at the same time. some parts are rather confusing (maybe it's the transition between chapters, or maybe the translation, even?), but maybe it'll all make sense if i read it a second time...? XD;

and i agree that many of the characters do look the same! that continues to provide me with much angst as i go, "what? why is character x doing this? oh wait, no, that's a different character! adkjf;asd?? @__@" i also fail on differentiating between the males and females (they all look the saaame X3).

lakdjl i hope you have read volume six now! the ending is so cute. i am so in love with their chibis and the small text outside of the speech bubbles. hee, they are so fabulous and fun and i love this series a lot. it is so guilty-pleasure-entertaining. :D

but yeah, i definitely remember being really confused plot-wise the first time i read it, hard copy. i just stared at the pretty and focused on the snarky/kissing scenes, heh. rereading it will help a lot. both on the plot and on who's who (god yes i had that problem so much the first time). i hope we get the last three volumes soon too. i'm sure that will help even more plotwise, ahaha.

i got to finish volume six yesterday! omg, nicole and jed! <33333 they totally need better communication skills. i adore nicole's wide range of expressions -- if i were to have a little brother, i'd want nicole! eee, so cute! and yes yes, the chibis<3<3 reiny is so adorable as well! you'd think that her thin neck would break with all that hair, but it doesn't, so that makes her even more awesome. XD i hope she and nicole's brother (ghl...something?) will have a happy ending together! :x

haha, that's what i pretty much did at first! then i tried to focus on the plot, but by then, it was too late and i was already confused, so i just went back to the pretty. i think i'll go for a second run through once i read the last three volumes (which i hope someone will be uploading soon XD).

is it just me or is the translation a little warbly at times? some of the narration was a bit hard to follow (i think i was trying to read the manhwa from right to left at first, and then realized that everything would make more sense if i did left to right XD but i think the translation is still a wee bit shaky at parts!)

And I definitely did the bit where I tried to read right to left and couldn't understand anything that was going on. It took conscious effort to correct! Oh how manga has spoiled me...

I didn't notice any shaky translations but I think that was because I was generally confused the entire time, haha. I also hope someone ups the rest soon--xelloss_poo said she'd get on it. ::loves::

And Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi...SO GOOD. It's incredibly inventive, and I think Kyoto Animation really does a good job bringing in a lot of real life actions (such as blinking! BLINKING!), and Haruhi is just...hilarious. Of course, Kyon does the series justice with his sarcasm. =D
