turns away quite leisurely from the disaster

HI HI! I'm back from Pittsburgh and New Jersey and it was fun and there shall be pictures! Eventually. I'm glad to be home because alkdjlfs my bed--I have this bond with it--but I miss my wifey. And I'm not so much looking forward to all the stuff I have to do (hello there, LSATs).

But! I kind of wanna faff around on LJ some before getting productive (this is not new news). So let's meme! :D

I got this from [livejournal.com profile] higherskies eons ago (oh procrastination):

Reply to this post, and I will tell you my favorite icon of yours. Then post this to your own journal using your own favorite icon. (Ya rly, this is my favorite icon of my 6.)

And also, I was reading [livejournal.com profile] hackthis' Heroes fic, and I was staring at her titles, which are so awesome and appropriate. [livejournal.com profile] mistful also has a way with titles, as do some other HP authors. Published authors are good with it too. Who says you can't judge a book by its cover title?

So this other meme: name some titles of fic, books, or poems that you really liked and/or made you want to read the work, regardless of whether the work was any good or not.

Off the top of my head, some of my favorites are below:

-Loved Those of Great Ambition (HP)
-We're Made Out of Blood & Rust (Heroes)
-Even Atlas Fails (Heroes)
-The Internet is the Most Fun You Can Have Without Taking Your Clothes Off (PoT)
-A Consummation Devoutly to be Wished (HP)
-Precision and Other Overlooked Pastimes (HP)
-Probably Everyone in Cell Block E (Ocean's 11)
-Neither French nor Actually Canadian (Bruno & Boots)
-An Incomplete and Cursory List of Hobbies Shindou Hikaru Has Attempted (Hikago)
-Somebody Else's Hand (PoT)
-Blowjobs and Other Cheap Birthday Presents (Supernatural)

-Swordspoint: A Melodrama of Manners (by Ellen Kushner)
-The Lies of Locke Lamora (by Scott Lynch)
-A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (Mark Twain)
-Sorcery and Cecilia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot (by Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer)
-A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (by James Joyce)
-A Hat Full of Sky (by Terry Pratchett)
-Something Wicked This Way Comes (Shakespeare, Ray Bradbury)

There are so many more. ::keymash:: I need to do lunch.

Bonus points if you tell me what my subject quote is from. (Here's a hint: it has nothing whatsoever to do with Fascist America, wtf Google.)

And does anyone have an mp3 of Ne-Yo's "So Sick"? 'Cause I can't get it out of my head.

I uploaded "So Sick" here (http://www.mediafire.com/?5jwtm9kmxxm) if you still need it.

... Also, randomly, have you ever been to an anime con or anything like it?

;_____; ::clings:: THANK YOU FOR THE SONG.

Also, no. I keep meaning to but--not. I want to go to YaoiCon someday though!

I just got back from Anime Expo in LA today. It was my first con ever, and it was quite overwhelming, haha. I get the feeling that I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have because the entire thing was so MASSIVE. I got lost more than a few times D: At least I got to see the S.K.I.N. debut, though xD

And the people that cosplayed! Some of their outfits were amazing. I can't imagine putting so much time and effort into one single thing.

[identity profile] meiface.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, AX the largest con in the U.S. or something like that. D: I can see how it'd be overwhelming, especially for a first con. (Some of my friends went last year for the CLAMP panel. ::so jealous::)

But hee, S.K.I.N. That makes me giggle. Were they exciting? :D

And cosplay indeed! I wasted a couple of hours last night staring at cosplay. You know Advent Children right? 'Cause I have some cosplay pics I want to share and drool over.

[identity profile] pastel-colours.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
ADVENT CHILDREN *DROOL*. I've never played FFVII (blasphemy?), but I've watched the movie at least 4 times, and I've read over lots of plot synopses. I saw a lot of AC Cloud cosplayers, but only one FFVII game Cloud. Share, please? :D :D

The S.K.I.N. concert was... loud. It was supposed to start at 3:30 pm, but because of the huge line up and a bunch of delays, it ended up not starting til 5:30. Pictures and videos weren't allowed, but if you look up "SKIN concert" on youtube, I'm sure you'd be able to find various videos, haha. But yeah, the concert was extremely exciting xD They were all camera whores, but that's to be expected :)

P.S. The artist's alley at Cons eats your soul. And your money. Same with the dealer's room. D:

LOOK LOOK. I flailed so hard over these. They look unreal but they're actual people. :O (I've seen a couple of other pretty good Tifa and Kadaj cosplays, but these are, like, the epitome of the characers brought to life. alkjsdflkd omg.)

I really like Misa (from DN) cosplays too. She is so cute! I kinda wanna cosplay her.

I'm terrified of cons because I will stare at all the shiny things I cannot afford. It will be tragic.

THOSE COSPLAYERS ARE MADE OF SHINY AWESOME. If there were ever a Final Fantasy 7 live action, this is how I'd hope the actors would look like *___*

Misa IS cute. Wearing blond wigs is fun! :D
