Secondly: HERE IS GREENWOOD IS GOING TO BE MADE IN A LIVE-ACTION DRAMA. You guys have no idea how much I love this series. So hard. It is old school and shoujo and about a boys' boarding school and amazing. I hope the drama is as fabulous as the manga and anime. *__* Oh Japan, you do make me happy.

Thirdly, I meant to finish read Ares this morning but was immensely distracted by Twilight wank. Oh the lulz, the lulz. Fandom wank brings me so much entertainment.

Its such a great story. And Robert is absolutley PERFECT as the sexy vampire Edward Cullen! He really becomes the character i think. The tortured vampire who tries to be good and not kill people and he falls in love with his singer (the person who he wants to kill the most because her blood smells the sweetest). He just does it so well! I think the Twlight series would appeal to most Harry Potter fans who are getting older and looking for a fantasy story thats more mature and a bit sexier. The characters in Twlight are so much more interesting then in Harry Potter, (for example the history of each of the Cullen’s and the way they interact as an adopted family is very sweet and interesting), the relationship between Edward and Bella is extremely intense and addictive hehe. And lets face it, sexy vampires are just way cooler then wizards, no matter which way you look at it hehe.

Ahh, yes.

Did I mention that in this series, the vampires sparkle? Literally. In the sun.

I've been skeptical of it ever sense because, um, sparkly vampires? I have to confess, I've only skimmed parts of it and read the wank but--

I'll take Pterry's Black Ribboners any day, kthx. Give me The Truth or Going Postal, ooh. Hell, I'll take Robin McKinley's Sunshine. Haven't read it but I've heard good things about it, and her other works are good.

Er, your Here is Greenwood link isn't working? But, wow, a drama! I have fond memories of reading fics for that series when I was just a tiny fangirl. (Shinobu + Mitsuru!)

I'm loving this Twilight mess so much--I like vampire stories, especially even the trashy ones, but I bounced hard off this one. It's not that I don't recognize the guilty pleasure appeal of it, but it seems like such a boring guilty pleasure! Every single excerpt I've read has been both banal and made the main characters seem like annoying twits, except for the ones that made me laugh at how ridiculous they were. (Sparkly vampires will never not be funny.) The squicky stalker issues didn't help either.

(Sunshine was excellent, IMO! Though it does meander a bit in places and has several loose ends.)

please read The Thief, by Megan Whalen Turner--you must! it's in first person and an absolute delight from cover-to-cover. the author even manages to pull off a twist at the end that surprised me AND everyone else i know who has read the book. :) Turner gives me hope for the YA fantasy genre, she truly does.

Oh man, I loved Twilight during the first read but I was rather preoccupied and didn't have much time to absorb how Mary Sue-ish it was. Then I reread and nearly broke something laughing. (Seriously, I read bits of the third book out loud and it's amazing how bad and cliche some of the dialogue is. "Every touch, every kiss, every caress was a lie..." NO JOKE.)

I'm definitely going to see the movie because hello, Cedric Diggory as Edward? Win.

I've also imagined Edward to look like Gaara (insomniac, bronze-colored hair, pale skin) and I've learned that most people are inclined to believe that I'm mentally imbalanced for even coming up with such a thing. :D

'twilight' is complete and utter drivel. yet i couldn't put the first or second book down. i started reading the third, got distracted, and i haven't gone back to it yet. i guess i have a love-hate relationship with that series? XD i hate the characters, i hate the dialogue, i hate the wanna-be-pretentious!prose, and the reader who does the audiobook makes the whole experience worse. somehow, i found the books enjoyable enough to read through in one go and i must admit i do want to see the movie when it comes out. they're kind of addictive! IDK! i can't justify myself. D:D:
