SuJu and Star Trek in one post!

Waahh, I love how I saw the official MV release show up on my flist yesterday, but had to run to dinner and Star Trek (which I'll get to in a bit), and when I come home hours later, my entire flist is full of post after post about the It's You MV... Oh flist. :)

So I watched it the leaked version (as opposed to the official version) and alksjdfkd oh SJ, just when I think I can move on from you guys, you remind me why you are awesome.

So here's a Chronicle of Mei's Reactions while Watching the MV:

MEI: Who is wearing that god-fugly shirt?
CAMERA: *pans up to longish girly hair*
MEI: Oh, it must be Heechul, that explains so much. I have never understood his fashion sense.
KIBUM: Why hello. Let me look pensively into the camera, almost as if I am practicing my ~drama face~.
MEI: OH MY GOD KIBUM!! I'VE ALMOST FORGOTTEN WHAT YOU LOOKED LIKE! I will forgive you your ugly shirt and hair because you're alive! I can forgive a lot of things for people being alive...

Here there is (to quote ch_ar_me), a Yehyuk drug deal, which I loled ever. And for a bit, there is more Sungmin dancing smugly and cockily, tossing his hair and everything, because he knows how much I love him despite his ugly clothes. Kyuhyun walks by another scene randomly just to be sexy and throwing his shoulders back and showing off his sexy jacket. Siwon prays some more for God to grant him more hotness, and I SEE HEECHUL. I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE KIM HEECHUL.

HEECHUL: *sings on a motorbike*
MEI: ...did I find you this attractive before? I mean, I knew I loved you, but did I find you this attractive before? *slightly concerned*

(Slight interruption of KIBUM's tragically smiling face. Baby looks like he's about to cry. T__T Oh I miss him and his happy Full House days!)

HEECHUL: *not concerned at all, continues being crazy attractive IN GRAY WITH THAT HOT BLUE TIE*
MEI: I don't think I'm used to being attracted to you. What do I do? Whose help do I seek?! Is there a support group for this? I need to know!

SIWON: *sings and angsts dramatically into a pay phone*
MEI: SHIHAN. I SEE IT. I CALL FOR SOMEONE TO FIC ABOUT IT.

And just as I am about to complain that there needs to be more Donghae, he shows up again, and dances, and reduces me to the twelve-year-old fangirl I really am inside. I love love the little move with his hand over his mouth that reminds me of Sohee's little "omona~" moment aksjflskdj.

AND THEN:

KYUHYUN: *strolls by past the dancers, hands in his pockets, and PWNS THE ENTIRE SCENE*

So I think the director's instructions to Kyuhyun were something like this:

DIRECTOR: Okay, Ryeowook, you gotta sing. Siwon, pray a lot. Heechul, be awesome. Kyuhyun, now you - just stroll around looking sexy and randomly pwning scenes, okay?
KYUHYUN: Can do, sir!

And at the end they all have simultaneous heart attacks! OR they all inherited Quatre's space heart and can feel each other like that. It's cool. It's how they roll.

IN CONCLUSION:

I love this MV. I was so afraid I'd hate it from the leaked pics I saw, because there was a lot of GIANT GROUP STANDING AROUND reminding me of Marry U. ;_; Which I hated. But this was an excellent, beautiful MV. It reminds me of the classics of '90s U.S. boy bands, or Shinhwa or something. Dark lighting and streets and hideous jumpsuits. :D

It doesn't hurt that I adore this song.

So yeah. I need an HQ version! /goes hunting

ETA: So leaked v. official. I liked the leaked better. But I will collect both versions! And my comments stand for pretty much both, though there is no Yehyuk drug deal in the official version, no Wookie throwing flowers, and NO HANNIE ANGSTING SCENES. T__T And too much Edward-Cullen-esque sparkling. Actually, I'm just going to pretend the leaked version is the official one. :| Fuck you, SM.


In other news: I saw Star Trek last night AND IT WAS AWESOME. AND EPIC. AND I HAD NO IDEA I COULD LIKE STAR TREK SO MUCH. Also apparently there were a lot of tribute to the original series, not that I spotted them because I'm not only not a Trekkie, I also fail at general pop culture. Still. The movie was very, very good. It definitely lived up to all the hype and expectations, unlike, say, Watchmen, which was a painfully awful 2.75 hours of my life.

Star Trek, on the other hand, was *__*. And I can see what sapphira_angel was saying about understanding how slash (fanfiction) might have originated with Kirk/Spock. Damn.

Donghae's outfit made me go "D:" but then he opened his mouth and started moving and I got over it. He's good for that.

My brain is confused as to whether I should be fangirling harder over Kyuhyun or Heechul. And I-I normally just don't get the fangirl love for Heechul, because while I think he's the most fabulous thing to ever fab there are others who pwn me more. So this was unexpected! And awesome. I now actually understand fandom's insane amounts of love for Heechul!

IT WAS AWESOME. Unexpectedly so, perhaps, because I'd never had any interest in the original series. But as a movie, it was a really fun experince. There were touching moments, funny moments, epic battles, good lines, conflict, resolution, etc. I enjoyed it a lot! :D

STAR TREK. IT WAS SO GOOD. :D It had touching moments and surprisingly funny moments and was overall a really good movie experience, despite not being a fan. For fans, I hear they enjoyed it a lot too! (Lots of original series tributes!)

It took me a shamefully little amount of time to distinguish the 13 when I put my mind to it - this was after I learned to care though. Watching SJ Full House also helps!

BUT DONGHAE IS BEAUTIFUL AND HOT AND MY FAVORITE. ♥

...except when Heechul or Kyuhyun walk around pwning, because I love them a lot too. :'D

Other than what I mentioned in my ETA, no, not huge changes. Official version showed a boring bit at the beginning of the boys in white walking to their chairs...generally a less epic and interestind MV imo because they cut out a lot of the drama/acting scenes.

What do you mean might, THEY DID. Kirk/Spock has been around since the 1960s. Though I personally don't dip my toes in that part of fandom, I won't deny that the series and movies are really asking for it. There was one episode called Amok Time, where Spock expressly showed that he'd choose Kirk over the Vulcan girl he was supposed to marry.

Warning though-- you might be turned off with the original series because the graphics are severely outdated. Still and all, I embraced them as a child and I appreciate them much more now.

You should definitely watch the Star Trek movie! I went in knowing nothing about the series, but I still enjoyed the movie a lot. :D
