Because it's been three years since I've unlocked this journal, I figure June 1st can continue to be the day of Big Changes around here. So here's a little summary:

1. Revamped intro post.
2. Revamped icons and keywords. (My SPN ones make me glee - go take a look!)
3. Kpop moratorium officially lifted! We can talk kpop here again but, not gonna lie, the past two weeks without it were pretty damned nice.

In light of the above, I'd also like to say:

x. DID YOU GUYS HEAR THAT DONGHAE IS A SUNYE-FAN? I knew my boy had good taste. Dude, Sunye was my favorite before I could even recognize Jessica or Sunny. /BEAMS. Someone convince me to write some kpop het in celebration!
x. I have continued reading bucketloads of SPN/J2 fic and I have two recs to make.

SPN: Sam/Dean

It's not about Dean. Really.

Rec: Okay, this is the hottest fic (I'm conflating both fics into one) I have ever read in SPN fandom. Possibly the hottest fic I have ever read, period. Let me summarize the concept a little better for you: It's about Sam getting addicted to the taste of Dean...through the girls Dean's slept with. Sam starts picking girls who are interested in him and then passes them off to Dean, who's clueless that Sam sleeps with these girls right after Dean does and gets himself off on the idea that he's where Dean was, just minutes ago.

This is what I told cleverlilwill, while we were discussing what makes smut hot and not just boring filler we skim over: The fic actually did a really fantastic job making it believable and hot and not disrespecting women or het relationships and sex while still promoting the slash. I was impressed. The first part actually doesn't end with any concrete slash sex - just the build-up and the acknowledgement that the desire does exist. The second part drags it out a little more without making it boring or repetitive, adds a not-quite threesome scene, and finally does provide the promised Sam/Dean. Loads and loads and loads of scorching UST done right.

This is what all smut aspires to be. Creative, refreshingly original, well characterized, plot-driven instead of filler, and filthy. Yum.

J2 | PG-13/R | 5 chapters (complete)
Jared's young, free and single – and finds when Jensen Ackles and his three devil children move in next door that he doesn't want to be. Jensen just wants to be left alone and find some peace.

Rec: The author tags this as R but I'd rate it PG-13 at most. So this? This is kidfic. But don't run away! Give this a chance - because this exceptionally well-done kidfic. The kids all have individual personalities and are damned likable without being unbelievable angels. They're real and bratty and troubled and very much individuals that will endear themselves to you. But they don't steal the show either. At heart, this fic is still very much a J2 romance, with a Jensen who will make your heart hurt and a gorgeously-written, wonderful Jared who is so good but not without his faults. Also featuring the singular best Chad I have ever read in J2 fic, in my favorite form of douche with a heart of gold. Except also hilarious.

x. I've officially started writing some Akame. sapphynashi, be proud of me! I have no idea where it's going and eventually I have to double-back and check out characterization and details, but I am just excited that I've managed to write at all!

Kame throws a pinch of salt into the pot, tastes it again, and deems it improved. He's gotten pretty good at this, for it being nothing more than a hobby. Jin appreciates it at least, even if he spent the first few years completely confused as to why Kame would bother. "We're vampires!" he said loudly, "we terrorize people and drink their blood! We rule the night. Why would we cook?"

Jin grew up on too many bad horror movies and urban legends. He bought fully into every trope and stereotype when he Turned, eagerly expecting something much more dramatic and exciting than the life that eventually faced him. Kame almost felt bad at times. But honestly. If all vampires were terrified of garlic like the legends had it, there would be no fucking way they'd survive in Japan, where garlic is nothing short of a staple in the food culture.

And there are plenty of vampires flourishing on this island, if it must be known.

x. Caught up with Bakuman and Kimi ni Todoke and am very happy. I love manga - it feels a little like coming home to return to it sometimes. /soppy
x. Now I will find time to read my books, I swear!

I found myself skipping over sex scenes after reading five gazillion of them in the fandom hahaha. Omg that fandom is so much pornier than kpop (and Merlin too). Jfc. But that recced fic actually pulled it off so well that it made me enjoy it properly again. 8D So well deserving of its rec.

OMG. I actually squealed "oh mi god" when I read that you've "officially started writing some Akame". I haven't been into JE for ages, but holy crap, you're probably going to make me want to read some good (and that can be questioned) old Akame, or just JE fics in general.

Also, this is a note that's probably going to boost your ego but yeah, I'll let you have that: you, along with a friend of mine, have made me a) watch 2 episodes of SPN, b) watch tons of con videos and other random shit and c) read J2 and Sam/Dean. I'm not amused. see, I'm in all this fandoms, and I really don't need another one But yeah, their BFF-ness amazes me. I've laughed my stomach sore because of them, too. They're precious. ♥
