Keep an eye on amazonziti's post that I linked last time regarding the Haiti-fic fail. She's updated with links to a lot of great meta posts about this incident. The artist mementis has also posted an incredibly classy apology. I'd definitely recommend people go read it.

So very classy, the apology by the artist as well as how she has handled comments to her post. I really admire it.

glockgal also drew Sam and Dean as PoC in response to the contingent of fandom basically questioning whether or not the fic would have been okay if J2 were not white men. Are we missing the point here, fandom? Anyway, the art is beautiful and funny and makes, I think, a great point.

I want to point out something ch_ar_me said that I really agree with: Not being part of the SPN fandom doesn't make this irrelevant.

Don't lose sight of what the point here is. It's not the fandom. It's a much bigger issue.

It was sort of terrible, wasn't it? Especially considering how well S Korea played against Greece. Then Greece went and beat Nigeria so... In order to make it out of group stages, I think Argentina needs to defeat Greece (hopefully with a good number of goals) and then S Korea needs to beat Nigeria with at least 2 goals? Something like that. @_@

That's what broke my heart though, I think... SK didn't play badly at all. It was just that... Argentina was so damned powerful and stuff. (I am not a football expert). But Messi and Higuain tore through them. From what I've heard, I think Argentina needs to beat Greece, which I don't doubt they'll do at all. Then I think SK can even get through with a draw. As long as they don't lose to Nigeria. I'm desperate for them to get through because I'll be visiting SK during that round of 16, and I want a good party. :)

Germany lost because the ref was insane. He ended up with 9 YELLOW CARDS (split about half between the teams) and a redcard for Germany for no reason. Even the commentators were like "wtf...no one knows when someone else is going to get yellow carded). STUPID UNFAIR CRAZY REF. Germany. :(((

I took a look at group A stats and...let's see.

Uruguay and Mexico have 4 pts now (1 win, 1 draw each) and France has 1 pt for their draw against Uruguay. France plays South Africa next and if they defeat them and get 3 pts they will have a total of 4.

Uruguay and Mexico play each other next and you don't want a draw bc then they'll both get 1 pt and have a total of 5, meaning no way for France to move on. So you want Mexico to lose. Then Mexico & France will both have 4 pts, in which case they'll look at Goal Differentials (goals made vs goals allowed).

Mexico will need to lose by at least 2 or more goals and France will need to win against RSA by 2 or more goals in order for France to move on.


...so it's not looking very likely, tbh.

Oh man that final made me so angry. I used to be a Lakers fan years and years ago but now I'm just sick of Kobe and the entire team's arrogance. :[ But to be honest I only paid attention to the final because I had another friend firmly invested in the Celtics. The last time I really really cared about the NBA finals was, oh idk, back when Jordan was still playing with the Bulls, lol. So over ten years ago?

I would try to persuade you to England but I can't in good conscious considering how shite they played yesterday. So I will say root for Spain - they were unexpectedly defeated in their first round game but they are still good enogh (I think, I hope) to get past that and move on.
