phasers set to: procrastination
So! Apparently, the majority of people don't know wtf the bar exam is? Or maybe just the majority of non-law people I know have no idea what it is. I have lived in such a skewed world perspective for the past three years, man. Studying for it is already making me moody and stressed and it's not even July! I will probably hiatus in July...
Anyway, the exam's July 24 & 25 and I appreciate all the well-wishing regardless. They work like little tiny cushions to prevent massive internal bleeding every time I want to headdesk in frustration and despair. (Spoiler: it's a lot.) :D
In a momentary break, while I can still afford to take them (well, no, I probably can't afford to take them, but while they are still justifiable to myself): calling all Eddie Izzard & Star Trek fans! A hilarious piece of comedy.
Funnier, I've been told, if you've seen TOS, but still tear-inducing hilarious if you've only seen the Reboot and read a lot of fic (like me).
And now, a poll about movies:
[Poll #1752846]
I was also going to watch Under the Hawthorn Tree (山楂树之恋), but let's not kid ourselves, it is too fucking depressing. My mom cried the entire way through and I get my crying-at-everything gene from her, so that would be me, soggy and miserable. Bar studying does that enough, thanks. It doesn't need help.
Last note: SM finally got around to making official Zhou Mi merchandise. IT ONLY TOOK YOU THREE YEARS, FUCKERS. That said, I now have no disposable income whatsoever (I bought the peeeeens), so no dice. Now I am left only with dreams of daintily sipping alcoholic beverages potent enough to knock me out from the sweet cradle of your hot-pink-stylized mug, Zhou Mimi. (I am all class, amirite?)
I wish I could write. :|

(Anonymous) 2011-06-16 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)i didn't actually think 山楂树之恋 was v. good, but imo zhang yi mou hasn't done anything especially good since 千里走单骑. although it did elicit a few manly tears from me! but yes, good luck with your studying, i'm sure you'll be fine!

Honestly I have no interest at all in watching 山楂树之恋, but my mom is like "watch it and you will understand more what it was like to grow up in my childhood!" My face: D: Not that I don't want to know what it's like, but it's just depressing to think about, and then the whole guilt complex kicks in, and then the "maybe I should be studying 25 hours a day for this exam WHY DON'T I APPRECIATE MY LIFE MORE?" bit starts...

Also, thank you! ♥

I am a heathen :( I have no interest whatsoever in the movie but everyone is so !!! about it I feel like maybe I should watch, since I do like superhero/comic movies generally. But pretty much my limited interest lies with DC, so I am like, Magneto...Professor X...vaguely rings a bell, sure, one dude was evil, right? And one is good, in a wheelchair, bald, telepathic??? /dredges up the few X-Men cartoons she watched as a kid, among ALL THE BATMAN.

I read that as you bought the peens. As in penises. /study mad
Here it actually involves a whole 'nother course after the degree. Then you have to go to the Supreme Court and say what an excellent character you have.
no subject
hahaha omg, no, I did not buy the peens. Not even if they came in 10 assorted colors, because skinny pens are great, but skinny peens maybe not so much.
Also, I am a bad Marvel fan, so my interest in the movie is low, but it seemed obligatory to include it in the poll. (I'll probably watch Pirates as a de-stresser bc trashy movies are the best for that! Nothing too heavy.)

;) (the best response sometimes)
I am too! (plus DC has been... active of late and yeah, I'm watching it for the epic bromance and to glare at the failings, fun!)

I ticked all of the to-watch movies because it's actually sort of-- hard to choose. Super 8 and First Class, I haven't seen yet, but all the others-- well, they're not exactly equal quality, and it's not like I hated watching any of them the first time, but none of them are movies I would enjoy watching again (...maybe because a third watch of the King's Speech is really overkill)
However I just looked up the Pooh movie and I AM SUDDENLY PSYCHED, ARE THERE PLACES WHERE WE CAN HEAR THE VOICES (CRAIG FERGUSON WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE???)
no subject
haha definitely all over the map in terms of quality & genre; hopefully I will get to all of them at some point, depending on what I'm in the mood for!
WINNIE THE POOH OF MY CHILDHOOD. I adore the books, Ifrit. I own Winnie the Pooh. I will one day acquire (among all the other books I will one day acquire for my GIANT BEAUTY & THE BEAST LIBRARY) House at Pooh Corner and the rest! The cute hand-drawn art! ;A;
The trailer's out, I think?
HOW DID I FORGET TO USE MY MOST APPROPRIATE ICON

askdfjg omg so distracted from my studyings. ;__; we can cuddle and cry after it is released WHAT IS HP I WILL BE FLAILING OVER THIS MOVIE.

Thanks. ;_; The stress is mounting.

I chose The King's Speech because I honestly liked the movie, and because I haven't watched the other ones listed. Except for Super 8, which was enjoyable, but not a movie I really liked.
no subject
Super 8 is not my type of movie either, but I have heard good things about it so I'm curious! and because it's JJ Abrahms... He surprised me with Star Trek, so now I want to give his other things a shot, haha.
