Going to be incommunicado the next few days as I'm off to wireless/service-less Montana. I don't mind taking a break from the internet (I have corralled a few people into texting me trade updates) (provided I get those texts) but it means I will be missing both the Germany-Italy semifinal tomorrow (stuck on planes and in airports) and the final on Sunday (STUCK ON PLANES AND IN AIRPORTS). My life is the most tragic. D:

Maybe they'll be playing it on a TV/bar in the airport... And for when I'm stuck on the plane, well, maybe I will just make it up in my head. I will know in roughly 45 minutes whether or not Spain will be in the finals and whether or not I should bring my #9 jersey along.

(Okay, I take it back. Fernando Torres' life is the most tragic. Or maybe it's Bobby Ryan's. Speaking of Bobby Ryan, I hope you all read the brand new Bobby/Getzy hooker AU, hell yeah. MORE BOBBY/GETZY ALL THE TIME.)

I've also seen the hockey voice post meme going around but I sound like a 12 year old when I talk and I'm not sure how much you guys need to hear me wail for ten minutes about the Canes or hockey in general. Although if you want, feel free to leave random questions, hockey or kpop or whatever, you want me to answer and maybe I'll do something when I get back.

I kind of wish I actually cared about the Derek/Stiles ship, because I'd probably enjoy the fandom a lot more then. (Sadly, all I really want out of fic is like. Character study. And all of the gen friendship, between everyone. Why am I so boring. ;___; )

I feel like hockey's taken over my life so completely I'm not invested in any other fandom except for well-written fic so as long as it's good writing, I don't care if Derek and Stiles have no chemistry whatsoever on screen... Although even there they do a bit, mostly from the wall-slamming. But S2 is exciting! I'm glad there are all these new characters and am impressed that people are actually writing them. Granted, usually into Derek/Stiles fics but at least they exist...

Out of curiosity, how did you get sucked into hockey? Because I must admit, the massive fandom that's sprung up around it intrigues me!

Oh, I can totally see why people ship Derek/Stiles, but I'm a weirdo who very rarely ships the fan favorite OTP as hard as everyone else does, for some reason. Though I have read very good fic that contained the pairing! And I luuuuuuurve S2, particularly the early incarnations of Erica and Isaac, though I wish the show would explain their werewolfy heel face turn characterization as well as some of the fic does!

You know who I want to see more of, though? THE VET. My theory thus far is that he's an ex-hunter gone shifter sympathizer, but who even knows.

Well for me it spawned out of boredom and a desire for high school AUs - someone recced one for hockey fandom, I read it, was hooked, and started reading the fics like they were original fiction. And then I found out the rest of fandom was blowing up at the same time and then I got curious about the sport because college basketball season was ending, and all just went from there, haha. Now I'm probably more into the sport than the fandom, but there's not much going on during the summer so - time to read other things while I have a chance!

The vet better be getting more backstory; they've set him up in a role perfect to be expanded upon! New episode tonight, right? I am sort of on and off following the actual canon, but it's been fun. :D

Germany appaz lost? I found this out as I was walking home after midnight and there was a crying woman wrapped in a German flag walking to the offie.

Yesssssssssss they lost. :( It was super sad.

haha Torres wasn't injured but he wasn't started in the past few games, including the final. TRAGIC LIFE. He did manage to score the third of Spain's 4 goals in the final though! And then apparently had his adorable kids on the pitch afterwards during the celebration. :D
