Still watching the Olympics, still enjoying the hell out of BBC coverage, and still pretty much delighted at seeing awesome athletes be awesome, no matter the nationality or sport. Although Gabby Douglas is made of magic and seeing Zou Kai win gold on floor this morning made my heart clutchy with happiness. :D (At no point did I rewatch 2008 gymnastics just because I needed to see China win things and also Nastia Liukin. Nope. But JFC 2008 was made of amazing.)

In non-Olympics news, I keep meaning to make a Teen Wolf rec list, but I figure most of you in the fandom have already read them. I may do so at a later date anyway?

For all you DCU fans, here is an adorable comic about the DCU heroes as elementary school kids: Little League. It's ongoing and kind of painfully adorable. Ignores, of course, a lot of canon timelines and whatnot.

For any remaining SasuNaru fans out there, here is an adorable futurefic I read the other day where Sasuke and Naruto have their own genin teams and accidentally date: Baby Animals, Weddings, And Other Things Not Normally Associated With Uchiha Sasuke. It's super cute. I miss my manga fandoms.

It's August! That's killing me a little bit inside. But August means almost September, which means pre-season (please please please happen, Hawks @ Flyers) and then October, which means, finally, hockey season again.

This past week was rough but I get to eat Indian food today. \o/ And wonder if SJM will ever come back. Mimi, I miss you and your stupid boys doing stupid things. I also miss having an excuse to use and improve my Chinese.

This post is all over the place and yet still painfully pointless. My life is pretty boring. Do I win a medal in this?

LOLOLOLOL I had to reblog that magnificent Olympics-or-gay-porn thing.

I get so bored every time I look at the hockey blogs (Nash, Doan, Coyotes, ugh just kill me now) that I have missed any speculation about the CBA and its progress. I do know that they can start the regular season without a new one in place, and I just hope that holds true for the preseason (I don't see why it wouldn't). Still, the longer it goes on without ticket sales, the more worried I'm going to get. :(((

(When I was in Philly I broke down and got a Giroux shirt. I don't know WHAT i'm going to wear to Hawks v Flyers. Something not red or orange, I suppose).

Ugh, yeah, all the hockey blogs and news these days is just painfully boring. The last exciting thing was Semin's signing by the Canes - now dead again until something happens with Doan, I guess, or maybe Bobby Ryan.

I approve of the Giroux shirt! My bias says obviously that is what you should wear, but I know your heart lies with the Hawks too so ahaha. I will be loud and proud in orange. I will cry when the Flyers play the Canes, but I will be in red. I have hierarchies, barely, and they will probably involve tears either way.

We were thisclose to buying tix in Section 103! But we decided to go for 112 on the opposite side instead, row 15. I was totally googling "best place to sit at a hockey game" ahaha and all the results said behind the goal is good for action in that end but misses stuff on the other end, and best vantage point to see the game is center ice about 10 rows up or on the second tier. Whatever. First game, we'll get closer to the players and then we'll know for the future, right? :D

If you're not opposed, we should totally meet up at some point!

I would enjoy seeing your Teen Wolf recs post! That's one fandom where I read based on what other people recommend rather than exploring it myself (which is how I am with most fandoms, actually. Hockey RPF is one of the few exceptions.)

2008 was a great year. This year was pretty fun too, minus the excessive Phelps coverage (I mean, props to him but I don't need to or want to see him every 20 minutes omg). I tuned into the BBC Coverage the other day and it is everything better than NBC. I get to see teams other than Team USA?! OMFG. WHAT. PREPOSTEROUS??

I loved the gymnastics this year! I was so angry when I missed the "broadcast" :c The Russian team breaking down had me much too upset. Also Ruta Meilutyte is a bundle of cute. What in the world was I doing at 16 years old.

I was so busy preparing to start law school summer of 2008 that I don't think I paid as close attention to the Olympics as I did this year; my memories are mostly of the opening & closing ceremonies and, of course, China taking gold in men and women's gymnastics. It's been fun getting to see way more events this year and especially the delightful BBC commentary. :D

The Russian team was so goooooooooooooood. Just not good enough for gold and it was heartbreaking to see how upset they were. ;__; That said, still thrilled for Gabby Douglas on all-around!

Ohmygod, Little League! I discovered that a few weeks ago and it never fails to warm my heart with cute. I especially enjoyed the bit about Darkseid as a gym teacher.
