celerywench for Hawks @ Flyers preseason game! Tragically, the regular season tickets for the Caps are ridiculously expensive all the time (thanks a lot, Ovie) and Flyers aren't much better. Still hoping to go to a few DC or Philly games throughout the season, though, spread out for the sake of my budget. Canes tickets are way more affordable but would require travel time/gas to get down to Raleigh, augh. That said, I am happy to report that at the Canes' PNC Arena, all the box seats, 2/3 of the tier 2 seats, and 1/3 of the tier 1 seats are perma-sold out. Look at our season ticket holders go! Who says the Canes don't have loyal fans? Suck it.

Hopefully the rec list will help tide you over 'til the final episode next week? It'll be so interesting to see what people write post-S2, since post-S1 produced a lot of one big happy pack dynamic, but obviously there will be a lot more work to be done post-S2 to get anyone to a happy ending. Which, to be honest, I'm really excited about, because I want all the plot and drama and character development! I want stories that tackle all the characters and their issues and relationships! *__* (With bonus Sterek, yes.)

A FANDOM THAT NEEDS LESS PORN?! You’re totally right though, there is so much porn in TW fandom....like whoa…….I think that’s partially because Teen Wolf already has a lot of the cliché fandom tropes in canon so the only thing left is porn or something?
I have a complex relationship with Teen Wolf. On one hand, I think it’s treatment of homosexuality and it’s female characters is good and depressingly uncommon in shows(correct me if I’m wrong but being gay doesn’t seem like a giant deal there? And Scott’s all like, flattered and happy when guys like him, which is uncommon for a straight character and they actually have a female/female friendship which is also distressingly uncommon).
On the other hand, I just start loling whenever I watch any of it AND I’M NOT SURE WHY. I’m also not sure about Sterek because I think there’s lots of potential gayness in that show but not really with those two characters? (though I am the person who wrote and accidently deleted Lydia/Jackson pegging once, so….) I don’t know, I feel like most other characters in that show have more potential than Derek and Stiles? I guess people just really like the dynamic or something.

TW is indeed pretty cool in its non-heteronormative world! Everyone is cool with all sexualities and it's not an After School Special either; it's just life, barely remarked upon at all. That's great. :D
hahah Sterek is a solely fandom thing; people adore Stiles as the snarky sidekick, and Derek is hot and growly, and Scott is grossly happy with Allison, and so Sterek was born. I don't mind all the tropey fics because I'm easy, but I also want the long plotty fic that builds up Sterek believably from canon, because, yep, in canon they have potential, but not even as much as a lot of other ships. But yeah i think it's the hotness and dynamic and potential that hooks a lot of people.
TBH I want a lot of filthy RPS to go with it. /o\ What is shame, I don't need it.

I can completely relate to your feelings about this though! The fic I primarily want is like, Erica/Boyd I guess…..but I still think Lydia/Allison have got some good chemistry, and now Isaac/Scott, weirdly enough. And I would enjoy reading gen fic about the Argents. And I like the whole Jackson/Danny thing. And Scott’s mom. And…….A LOT OF PEOPLE/PAIRINGS ARE INTERESTING IN THIS SHOW, FANDOM.
But wow, you know two people who don’t get Sterek?! You’re the first person I’ve come across. And I apologize for rambling, but I don’t get to talk about how baffling I find the Sterek phenomenal often. xD

If I do end up writing fic for this fandom, it's probably going to be about like, Isaac (whom I've gotten really fond of, especially in light of the latest episode), or Erica, or even Matt the creepy photographer (who is, yes, kind of terrible and messed up, but I also find his issues - - and potentially slashy-in-a-really-screwed-up-way dynamic with Jackson - pretty interesting), and if there's a pairing, it is totally not going to be one the mainstream fandom will care about. |D

Like, I enjoy the tropey Sterek fics, I'll admit it, but I'm totally craving more and more the plotty longfic with epic character exploration of motives and consequences of poor life decisions and building/rebuilding relationships, because god knows that are like a million miles away from the one big happy pack that fandom likes to write.

Also, Stiles actually having a realistic "this supernatural shit is legit fucking with my life" reaction to everything that's going on? So rare in the teen paranormal genre, but something that totally needs to happen more often, because seriously, this is exactly how your average teenager should respond to all this crazy.

Yeah, the courts get to debate a lot of fun stuff, especially re: obscenity and copyright, because you have to argue what's ~art~ and what's not, including things like "Enchilada Barbie".

No, I think a lot of stuff could be argued for art or parody or whatnot and I fully support fair use (hello, fandom), even the shock art or whatever, though it is not my favorite. There is value in the shock value, but sometimes I feel like that's the cheaper way of making your point and not as creative. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW.
