yes, I'm the rocksteady

Got my tix with [livejournal.com profile] celerywench for Hawks @ Flyers preseason game! Tragically, the regular season tickets for the Caps are ridiculously expensive all the time (thanks a lot, Ovie) and Flyers aren't much better. Still hoping to go to a few DC or Philly games throughout the season, though, spread out for the sake of my budget. Canes tickets are way more affordable but would require travel time/gas to get down to Raleigh, augh. That said, I am happy to report that at the Canes' PNC Arena, all the box seats, 2/3 of the tier 2 seats, and 1/3 of the tier 1 seats are perma-sold out. Look at our season ticket holders go! Who says the Canes don't have loyal fans? Suck it.

New Teen Wolf tonight! In some kind of celebration or just coincidental timing, here are some Teen Wolf recs - 36 fics and 5 fanvids.

I feel as though this accurately sums up about 90% of all Sterek fic.

I went grocery shopping today and have too many delicious food options. I love that feeling.

It's worksafe to Google! Disturbing in the art way though. Or you could read this article, which basically sums it up: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2011/01/how-fair-use-brought-us-vcrs-copiersand-nude-barbie-enchiladas/

...okay, so that's disturbing more in a sexist way than anything else. guh, I really hate ~shock art~ or whatever it's called.

IT WAS ALL A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT.

No, I think a lot of stuff could be argued for art or parody or whatnot and I fully support fair use (hello, fandom), even the shock art or whatever, though it is not my favorite. There is value in the shock value, but sometimes I feel like that's the cheaper way of making your point and not as creative. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW.

TRIGGERS, THOUGH!!

also I agree with you! and, like, idk — I feel like shock art has a huge huge margin of error and tendency to completely miss its mark. like that thing with the sexist and racist cake thing in sweden with the culture minister and the female genital mutilation? IDK I JUST THINK IT'S SUPER CRUDE. I ALSO THINK THAT CRACK IN THE FLOOR IN THE TATE IS JUST SUPER MEANINGLESS. so, yeah, what do I know when it's ~*~art~*~

For shock art? Yeah, I don't think the artists care. Real life generally not so good with providing the trigger warnings.

Ugh idk, I am just bad at art. And deepness. ALL I WANNA READ IS SILLY PRETEND BOYFRIENDS RIGHT NOW aasdlkgjlds. Sigh.

WELL IT (real life) SHOULD BE. I just feel like they're undercutting the point they're trying to make by playing the ~shock value~ card and not taking into account the hurt caused to actual victims. idk, I think there's got to be more socially responsible ways of using art to make people think.

I LOVE PRETEND BOYFRIENDS! \o/ There is an element of that in the NaruSasu HS AU I was telling you about!
