so this spring break imma continue flailing as i do

I'm on Spring Break! This means I am doing absolutely nothing productive this weekend which will include:

1. reading War Games by seperis, K/S, sequel to You'll Get There in the End
2. writing some goddamn Minho/Donghae
3. going to the mall for the first time in months and buying shit because I've failed my "girl quota" recently
4. watching Alice in Wonderland, omg Johnny Depp \o/
5. watching Ponyo on a friend's ginormous HDTV
6. getting my hair cut and possibly colored again because the whole "failing at being a girl thing"? it's gotten quite serious. I blame law school. I always blame law school.

Then I actually plan on being productive and doing work and applying for jobs and catching up and learning things and whatnot throughout the week. Why?

BECAUSE I'M GOING TO NYC 3/26 - 3/29 FOR MY EXTENDED-WEEKEND MINI-BREAK WITH swingingstars AND suxing! I am so excited there are no words. Possibly the only thing more exciting would be, idk, Donghae and/or Jensen showing up on my doorstep for some unfathomable reason. BUT SINCE THAT IS NOT EXACTLY REALISTIC, LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS UPCOMING NYC WEEKEND.

Or we could talk about books. Do you want to talk about books? This is my opinion on books: they are freaking awesome. People who don't read for pleasure confound and bewilder me. I find myself greatly troubled by their psyche, in that I mean I have no idea how someone could possibly be wired to not enjoy reading. See my utter befuddlement. I do enjoy the word befuddlement.

I recently picked up The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes to reread because I miss my mystery phase. Agatha Christie next, if I have time! And if anyone remembers me flailing about Lorna Freeman and her Borderlands series? I will flail about her forever. Shadows Past was immensely fun to read and I will stalk her blog as she writes the next book. Catch me when I'm not on a high and I will write her a proper book review/rec. Maybe also J2 fic recs. (Omfg you have no idea how pleased I am the way SPN/J2 Big Bang and STXI Big Bang and H/D holiday fic exchanges are staggered so there is basically something amazing to read at all times. Except now. Kind of. Whatever!) Y'ALL SHOULD TALK TO ME ABOUT BOOKS AND FICS AND READING. AND STUFF.

In conclusion and on a completely irrelevant thought, jaded_skys is amazing and willing to buy me shiny crap from Korea and all I want are cell phone charms and possibly clothes a giant freaking poster A PAPER BAG WITH DONGHAE'S FACE ON IT stuff from SPAO. Damn you, SPAO, how your advertising has worked.

Here's a secret: I haven't been to NYC before. Timing just never worked out, tragically. But I am excited to go, especially with fabulous people. :D I hope to eat many delicious thiiings. /pig

Oh god if I bought every book I loved, I would be dirt poor and also be weighed down to the earth, haha. Moving/packing is already a pain with how many books I have. One day I will have the money and the permanence to start up a proper collection! :D In the meantime, libraries are amazing.

Yeah, juggling school and pleasure time is hard - or in my case a little easier because I hate school so I say "fuck it" and find time to read anyway. It's all about the healthy balancing of priorities, lol. My mental health versus my grades... Though really my grades aren't dependent on whether or not I read for class so maybe that's why it's easier for me. u__u

WELL I REALLY ENJOYED IT BC I ENJOY ALL THINGS PTERRY. I do think I would have enjoyed it more if I were more familiar with football culture. Uhh, what else? I miss his City Watch books though. I mean, all the recent ones (besides Thud!) have all been new characters. Perhaps I have just not learned to love them enough yet. :(

Agatha Christie :DDD I remember I first started reading Poirot when I was 15, and I made about five friends read it along with me (they all became fans. I'm so good at sharing happiness). My friends were all so addicted to AC for nearly two years <3

I actually started off with the Marple books and was all :| at Poirot for ages for some reason. Now I like Poirot a lot better than Jane Marple... It is inexplicable, I don't know. Heh, the "little gray cells". Poirot and Holmes! I do so like.
