today's emotions will not compare with tomorrow's freaking out

LOL remember my post about WC and nationalities?

I'll never understand how people can support like 5 NTs. It's one thing to like/prefer another NT after your team's out but when you've got like 5 you readily support, it fucking weirds me out man. Some people I know are genuinely for several different NTs and barely know their tactics/history. JUST PICK A TEAM TO TRULY SUPPORT GODDAMN.

YOU GUYS. SUPPORTING =/= GOING FOR OR WANTING TO SEE THAT TEAM DO WELL FOR YOUR CLUB PLAYERS.

Supporting = truly investing yourself in that NT as if you're a hardcore fan. IMO, you can only really do that with one or maybe two countries, not several different ones. Wanting a country to just do well isn't the same.

Yeah, okay, you just go on telling everyone how they should or should not cheer on or support teams because if they're not doing it how you're doing it, THEY'RE DOING IT WRONG. AND THAT OFFENDS YOU. HOW DARE THEY DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY. What the fuck ever, we can cheer however we want and if that's not ~okay~ with you - do I look like I care? I'll support whatever team I damn well please for whatever reasons I choose to.

It's like someone trying to tell people how to ship OTPs, jesus. IF YOU SHIP SAM/DEAN YOU CANNOT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE SUPPORT DEAN/CASTIEL OMG, THE WORLD WILL CRUMBLE. If you like KiHae, god forbid you like EunHae too because that would personally offend me and the order of my world and then THERE WILL BE AN APOCALPYSE. You're not a ~true fan~ if you don't have just one OTP.

SHUN THE NONBELIEVER.

(I support this comment: What's wrong with bandwagon fans? Can't people just root for the sport? I know a few people that root for the US Basketball team just because they play a beautiful game and they weren't born in the country. I see nothing wrong with this or with people rooting for Brazil. Maybe they relate to the team somehow. Everyone is free to root for whoever they want. Fucking co-signed.)

...yeah, okay, mockery aside, while I wasn't exactly pulling for Brazil to win initially, I was pulling for them not to lose, because a sad Kaká makes me sad too. Of course, I'm one of those people who can only be neutral for about 10 minutes - then I pick a team and get into it and get all emotionally invested. So by the end, with Brazil losing, I was very :(((.

All the pics of sad Kaká did not help.

Er...you may see my bias in what I consider happy-making. :'D Will repost some pics of Kaká's beautiful (seriously breathaking) wife & boy if I get unlazy enough to go find them again. ♥

In other news, SJ's No Other performance is cute and makes me happy. I love how crazy-happy Teukie looks (lmfao) and Sungmin is adorable. Donghae looks goooooood but is anyone surprised? I'm really digging the less-skin style, actually - more suits, less sweaty shininess, and much more class a la Sorry Sorry. :)

Aaaand in tennis news: Nole lost to Berdych in straight sets! D: But Rafa beat Murray in straight sets. :D And Becks was there with his son, fucking adorable.

Now to scrounge up lunch before the Uruguay-Ghana match. Expect this post to be updated eventually.

URU v. GHA match, summed up
1st half: Ghana scores, played well!
2nd half: Uruguay scores, everyone sucks, it's boring.

MEI: Ugh fuck extra time, can we just skip to penalties?

Extra Time: YOU THINK I WILL BE BORING, BUT YOU WILL SEE HOW WRONG YOU ARE.

In the last minute of extra time, Uruguay's Suárez HANDBALLS A GHANA GOAL OUT OF THE GOAL, GETS REDCARDED, AND GHANA IS GIVEN A PENALTY KICK.

WHICH GHANA'S GYAN THEN PROCEEDS TO MISS.

MEI: What the fucking hell just happened here? Holy fuck, this game got stupidly ridiculously dramatic and epic in the last few seconds.

And then penalty kicks were had and Mei's blood pressure went through the roof.

URU: scores, 1-0
GHA: scores, 1-1
URU: scores, 2-1
GHA: scores, 2-2
URU: scores, 3-2
GHA: PK IS SAVED FUCK, 3-2
URU: MISSES, OMFG 3-2
GHA: scores, 3-3
URU: scores, 4-3
GHA: ANOTHER PK IS SAVED WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GAME, 4-3
URU: scores, fucking wins, 5-3

MEI: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHH AHHH AHH OMG AM I ALIVE? I FEEL LIKE I'VE HAD FIVE HEART ATTACKS ALREADY.

Ugh at least Suarez is out for the next game against #ned . I guess I'll be pulling for #ned to win. >:/ #uru took out #kor and #gha so.

Then I was butthurt for a bit. Then I got over it. Because I need to save my stress and freaking out for tomorrow, because both Germany and Spain play lskdhfjf. Jesus.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED AS A PICK-ME-UP? LIVERPOOL'S AMAZING FOOTBALL CHEERS/SONGS FOR FERNANDO TORRES AND STEVIE G. OMG. They are all so drunk and happy and excited. :( I want to join in!

Another version, in a pub! There is also the Spanish version.

Why this song might be familiar: it's taken from a song from Disney's Robin Hood! (Still my favorite adaptation of RH to this day, heh. Even more than Men in Tights.) Here, have another pub version. :D

Also, in case we need more lulz:

ahahaha. /goes to drink and roll around

Aaah, I've adored Kaká since the last FIFA cup. ♥ I'm glad that his team isn't throwing the games this time around. :\ (Brasil was disappointed at their team in the last FIFA because apparently a bunch of the players were unhappy with their paychecks, so... yeah) They're such a joy to watch!

I don't know how anyone could ever root against his team. ;; ♥

/Brasil-tard

this is [livejournal.com profile] havs on a new account btw -- not some random creep stalker. >>b

haha thanks for letting me know. :D

ugh oh man, not even truly invested in Brazil sinice they're not one of my teams, but I do hate to see Kaká sad. :( He is one of my recent crushes. But before he got sad, it was kind of awesome to see him pissed off. Ngl, him swearing on the pitch was totally kinda *_____*.

Oh man tomorrow's games are going to kill me though. Today's have been bad enough and they weren't even my teams. I fear for tomorrow.

Ahah, I've been a Brasil fan since I lived there -- you'd have to be insane not to get infected with their love for futebol omg. ): And I had the biggest crush on Kaká last FIFA. I got to go to Brasil right after it, and I made sure to get a Kaká jersey~

This tournament has been absolutely crazy. I'm sad that Japan lost though, and that Africa and Asia are both left without representation now.

Oh, FIFA, you heart breaker.

Oooh you lived there? HOW COOL. I definitely know what you mean though - it's so easy to get caught up in the fever and it's a lot of fun. :D That happened to me on a smaller scale with college basketball; it's HUGE at my alma mater and it's basically impossible to go there and not come out of it a (crazy) fan haha.

Awww Kaká is really just lovely.

And yeah, I was so sad when Japan lost. :( And now Africa & Asia is without representation. Though I guess that's...fairly standard for most World Cups by the QF/semi-final stages. Europe & Latin America dominate the sport.

Now I am pulling for my #1 Spain and #2 Germany. I'm already stressed about tomorrow.

Yep! I was in the state of Parana near the Iguacu falls; an hour away from Paraguay (I got to walk there from my host-Aunt's house, ahah) and 1.5 hours away from Argentina. :) It's totally amazing down there, and I want to go live there again once I can afford to. ♥

Japan was doing really well this cup, too! I know they surprised a lot of people last time, and this time they did even better. I'm hoping that they work on their stamina for the next cup, since they're definitely at a big disadvantage in the second half of games in that regard.

With the way things are going, over the next few WCs we'll probably see a big shift in the soccer powers, as it were. I know my brother was really surprised with North Korea, and my Dad was impressed with a few others!

My host father was from Germany, so that's one of my teams as well. ^^ Hopefully our teams kick some ass, ahah ;D

Wow that sounds very cool. Outside of the US I've only lived in China for any extended period of time - the rest has all just been visiting. Next spring I get to go to Singapore for exchange though so I'm excited about that! :D Man, if I had money I'd go travel everywhere. Oh life, why so expensive...

I definitely agree about Japan! I hope both they and Korea can go further next time; it would be awesome to see more Asia representation into the bigger stages of the WC.

Ahhh game on soon. GO GERMANY.
