I think being a hockey fan - okay, a Hawks fan - is making me an alcoholic.

I totally saw the knockout coming tonight but yet - yet I am drunk and sad, because we actually played better tonight than we did in the previous five games, but we lost by an embarrassing margin. Tazer and Kaner shaking hands with the Yotes at the end of the game just ruined me. And then swingingstars and I got in the car to hear the ending strains of We Are Young.

It was like a sign.

A terrible, tragic sign.

Sorry, Hawks.

Maybe next year.

Whatever. Next year I'm all in for the Canes. >:(

Year-end fic meme! I'm leaving off the fic I wrote for exchange because it won't be posted until 2012, so even though it was written this year, it won't go towards this year's fic and word count. That said, damn, this is the least I've written for years. The past few months have really been silent. I've been consuming and reading so much instead of producing and writing, which is not a bad thing, obviously, but writing is something I don't want to give up, so I'll work on that next year!

Re: kpop as a whole - I guess it's pretty clear that I'm just here for my girls (WG, Soshi, Victoria pretty much) and Big Bang (GTOOOOOP) now, yeah? I will admit to a soft spot for Khun, SHINee, and CN Blue, in a way that means I...don't pay any attention to them.

Re: SBS Gayo Daejun - Something something SJ drama, Siwon swearing, crying wailing gnashing of teeth, more drama. My thoughts: (1) why can't SJM have their comeback already?? and (2) I need a Big Bang comeback ASAP and (3) oh my god Wonder Girls Be My Baby remix MY HEART and (4) ...all I got out of Moves Like Jagger by Super Generation was HOLY FUCK SUNNY and *squints* WHO IS DONGHAE DANCING WITH and lol KyuSeo stuck together forever yeah right please.

Okay, SM Town orchestra did make me go extra excited over my biases though: HENRYYYYYYYYY♥ and SEOHYUN MY ANGEL YOU ARE AMAZING and RYEOWOOK ILU and LMAO KYUHYUN SO EPIC WITH A HARMONICA. Jungmo, you are pretty cool?? But then Victoria came on and I lost my train of thought. Victoria is everything Han Geng was, except not an asshole and 500 times more beautiful. Yeah, yeah, bias.

WHATEVER. What I really need a group composed of, like, Henry Zhou Mi Kyuhyun Ryeowook Seohyun Amber Victoria and Changmin. Jungmo maybe also?? And then a separate group of like Donghae and Jessica and Yunho and Heechul (and lol Kibum because it's not like he ever shows up to anything) and they can all be fabulously bitchy and long-suffering together.

seriously. don't read this if you're not a mi-stan, if you're easily offended by personal opinions on kpop idols (it's okay, i am, hence the warning), if you don't get overinvestment in fandom, or if you just don't care.

(1) Being done with law school in STL! I'm off to Singapore on Jan 4, where traveling > studying. Yeah babyyy. Just gotta pack/clean before I head on home to NC to family. Then pack again to go on our holiday cruise. Then pack again to go to Singapore. Living out of suitcases xx.

Hello, hello - this is the promised "introduction to Mei" post I said I'd be writing for all you new people (w-why are there so many of you?). Also, any old flisters who are curious! Really this is not that in depth and talks more about my fandom interests (I have a gazillion) than Who I Am As A Human Being, but I figure we have to leave some mystery to the relationship, otherwise you'll all get terribly bored and abandon me.
