you mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling
Anyone who hasn't yet seen Inception, I don't know what's stopping you. Get on it! It's not a life-changing experience but it is a fan-fucking-tastic movie and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in a suit. For the entire movie. Also, you know, the plot's pretty good. ;) And the rest of the ensemble cast is lovely. ETA: My caveat being that the movie is hardly perfect and has its problems, which I haven't really been dwelling on (other than initial fleeting thoughts) until brought up in Aja's post comments. I'd say: watch the movie, form your own opinions, and come back and talk/think about it some more!
I've somehow managed to see it three times already and I have to report that the second viewing is probably the best. Anyone who's paying attention is probably unsurprised by my unholy glee at the witty, snarky banter between Arthur and Eames. I am weak, all right?
I shouldn't be surprised that I wasn't the only one, either - and yet it wasn't until yesterday that I realized, oh dear god, Inception has a fandom already. Not just a main comm or a fic comm or an icon comm - we're down with the kinkmeme already:
inception_kink.
I have, of course, started reading. I'm so predictable, you guys. Here's the first rec; delicious is open for the others, as always!

So far, I have been reading reviews for this movie and most of them are full of praises for it. Hee can't wait to watch it this weekend.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who ships Eames/Arthur (though I thought the kiss between Ariadne and Arthur was adorable!). I think I caught more of their interactions/banter in the second viewing, which I appreciated.
Also, have you seen this NY Times video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzX9jHB3LfA) of JGL? It's not mind-blowing, but JGL briefly speaks in French and talks about Dumbo and about being a soldier (well, not being a soldier, per se).

HOLY FUCK INCEPTION. DUDE, OKAY. ARTHUR/EAMES. I SHIPPED THAT AS SOON AS THEY WERE IN A SCENE TOGETHER. CAN WE SAY ~TENSION~ AND ~BANTER~? also the actual film? fucking ace. fucked my mind a bit deciding whether it was dream or reality, BUT, in this girl's humble opinion, it was reality. what say you?

I have seen the movie so many times now that I honestly just don't care haha, but I think it's reality too. A friend of mine has been trying to argue that the entire movie was a dream (the Cobalt company people on Cobb's tail in Mumbhasa = projections trained to kill, that when he was running away to that shop demanding 1 cafe and everyone stared at him like he was crazy = projections staring at a dreamer), but idk. I feel like the entire movie would be way too cheap if they copped out to a "but everything was a dream!" trope. I think they just cut away from the top at the end because they wanted to frustrate the audience with a potential non-ending.
Saito was boss. ♥ Have you started reading fic? I have read so much A/E, I don't know what to do with myself. I want amazing explorative longfic from this fandom now haha.
